God’s Marvelous Plan

September 1, 2013
Our guests this week are Jamie Iwanski and Chelsea Martin from "Red Door Ministry." They shared how churches can share love of Jesus to families who are planning to have an abortion.

"The Red-Door Ministry" is a ministry dedicated to the rescue of mothers, fathers, and their unborn children from the culture of death expressed in abortion. We are a ministry of Apologia Church. Get to know us at and support us at apologiaradio.com Their mission to provide help for women considering aborting their children, to rescue children in their mother's wombs from dismemberment and death, and to bring the Gospel of the Lord Jesus into the culture to transform the hearts and minds of society concluding in the abolition of abortion...forever.

Psalm 23
We live in a broken world with full of challenges, failures, and disappointments. As life continues, many unknowns lie before us that can weigh us down, inflicting wounds that often get buried or ignored. We have been created to thrive in our relationships with God, our family, our neighbors and ourselves. By knowing that God is our Good Shepherd, understanding the identity that we have as his precious sheep, we can find rest and healing in our souls. Through this humble book, Healing Through Psalm 23, may God comfort you who are suffering, who are in pain, who need forgiveness; may you know God, walk confidently and grow into the maturity of coming alongside others in their journey of healing.

Apologia Radio boldly confronts the hard issues of today. Apologia Radio is a Christian radio program that aims to shake the foundation of Christian broadcasting by offering a hard-hitting, Gospel-centered, and culturally-relevant commentary on today's post-modern society. Distinguishing itself from the typical boring and irrelevant theological-jargon all too common in other programs, Apologia Radio boldly confronts the hard issues of today in a manner that is fun, fresh, and practical. In an effort to reach people with the Gospel, culturally relevant issues like abortion, sexuality, and politics as well as competing worldviews/religions are engaged head-on with rigorous Christian examination. Apologia Radio will provide faithful Biblical commentary on these issues that will raise eyebrows and satisfy hungry minds. Above all else it is the sincerest desire of Apologia Radio to equip Christians for effective ministry to a lost and dying world for the sake of their souls and for the growth of His Kingdom. Soli Deo Gloria! Come now, and let us reason together Says the Lord, Though your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They will be like wool. (Isaiah 1:18)

In our program, we have been sharing about the letter from Paul to the church of Ephesus. In the book of Acts, there is a description of what the city of Ephesus was like. I happened to visit Ephesus and had the privilege of experiencing the environment that Paul could have been in when he shared the Gospel to those who were suffering from idol worship. I think there is not much of a difference even today between how some are suffering from actual idol worship and others, like in America, suffer from the disguised idol worship through the media to capture people's hearts in so many destructive ways.We had guests from Apologia Radio, Hosts; Jeff Durbin, Joy Temby, Luke Pierson.http://apologiaradio.com/After saying this he dismissed the assembly.(Acts 19:41)

Looking through the window, I saw the sunset light that was glowing on the tip of trees and plants. It resembled one of Claude Monet's painting, titled Haystack at Giverny the evening sun. I wished I could bring that light on my painting. The gentle and warm light was like a reflection of God's strong affection toward us. I can see the same love in the book of Ephesians. Compared to the past background of the people of Ephesus with idolatry, how beautiful the love of God that was poured it out to those who were in the dark and hopelessness. This book reminds us His love is the same today as Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever as the book of Hebrew 13:8 says. "For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus;for the sake of you Gentiles;if indeed you have heard of the stewardship of God's grace which was given to me for you that by revelation there was made known to me the mystery as I wrote before in brief. (Ephesians 3:1-3)

This scripture described one of God's characters as an unchanging God. When the day is warm, we would love to be under a shadow. One time, when we were up north in Prescott, we were laying down in a public park in Prescott downtown. We lay our blanket down under the tree that provided cool shade while we were having our family time together. But whenever the sun was moving, the shadow was moving as well. We had to constantly move our blanket to follow the shadow. It gets tiring after a while. What if we are following God who makes us exhausting like the shadow. We can not rest in him. God is not like the shifting shadow. God's love is unfailing love. He never changes his heart toward us. Rest in this truth! You are a child of God and a fellow citizen. Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God's people and also members of his household, on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.(Ephesus 1:19-22)

Let's think about Joseph who dreamt the dream that he believed was from God and kept on walking in his faith through the dungeon, the betrayal, the injustice. He trusted God again by asking a cup bearer to remember him again. If his hope was gone and he lived in hopeless place, he might have given up even asking the cup bearer to remember him. He did not lose his hope. He did not lose his dream. I do not know where you are at today, you might have been experiencing hardships like Joseph who was in dungeon, or feeling pain from the betrayal by family members or friends or experiencing rage from the injustice that has been done in your life, or maybe your hope is almost snuffed out. Your dream is all crushed. Here is the good news for you, even if you lost the grip of what you have been holding onto, God is still holding you.God hears our prayer! For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and your love for all the saints, do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit ofwisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. (Ephesuans 1:15-17)

Even through all the pain and sorrow that Paul experienced, he did not cease giving thanks for saints in Ephesus. The utmost reason that people are in ministry is because of the joy comes from watching God save his children from the dominion of darkness. When we taste the joy of people being saved and delivered, we forget all the pain and hardship came from serving those who are in a hopeless place. For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and your love for all the saints,do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers; (Ephesians 1:15-16)

When my children brought the baby quail, they lavished their love on that tiny chick. The love overflowed from them to drive in the late evening to provide a safe shelter for the chick. Their love overflowed to protect her from the kitty, and two dogs from my house. The love that they experienced was so beautiful. I could see the heart of God in them, compassion towards the helpless little chick. Unconditional love that Jesus pours out on us cannot be found elsewhere. The nineteen fire fighters who died at Yarnell Hill Fire demonstrated love when they walked towards the fire when everyone was running away from it. Living a Christian life seems unprofitable and unreasonable, yet brings the final beauty to the life of believers. We do not have any words to express our gratitude towards one who lived his life for others with the love of Christ. Not every one will be noticed or appreciated their service for the Lord, but there are many who serve the Lord without names and fame. But God sees it all. Our inheritance is waiting in eternity. That is our great encouragement. Our hope is not in this world, but in heaven where our loved ones are waiting for us. We sincerely honor those who gave their lives to others to save them. It is our prayer that May God comfort those who remain and are separated from their loved ones for a while, but it is sooner than we think when we will be united with them in a beautiful place where our heavenly father is with his full presence.  That is our hope in Christ! In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace which He lavished on us. (Ephesians 1:7)

According to Bluletterbible, Thelēma is from the prolonged form of θέλω (G2309) thelō, Apparently strengthened from the alternate form of αἱρέω (G138) haireō, the root of haireo has a meaning of:f) to take away from another what is his or what is committed to him, to take by force. When the Ephesian people were committed to idols like Artemis or Diane, Paul's sacrificial love toward those people who were in the bondage of Satan were pretty strong as the heart of God. God pleasure and His will deliver us from the bondage of sins and death. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love, he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. (Ephesians 1:4-6)

As I watch my children grow and mature, I get surprises from the wisdom that they share. Sometimes, I realize how blessed I am by just watching how God is forming them beautifully even through their failures. As a parent who has experienced deep hurt, we tend to control or over protect our children. In those times, even if I ran into fear and am stuck somewhere, my children encourage me to stand up stronger. "Mom, let's not dwell in the past and live for the better future." Their positive input makes me live another day with a new strength. My son and I were privileged to see a vulture in our back yard. As I went to get a camera, he was already soaring in the high sky. Good thing my son took a picture even though I missed it. II Thessalonians 3As for other matters, brothers and sisters, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you. And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil people, for not everyone has faith. But the Lord is faithful, and he will stengthen you and protect you from the evil one. We have confidence in the Lord that you sre doing and will continue to do the things we command. May the Lord direct your hearts into God's love and Christ's perseverence.

My encouragement for people who are in the ministry is that we have to press on in spite of public opinion because we are fulfilling the mission of God, not ours. Whatever God placed in your heart, we have to deliver it as we deliver babies. Once God plant seeds in our heart, it will be delivered no matter what. Because we are attacked by enemies as a leader's family, it does not mean that we are disqualified from the calling. The person proclaiming the truth is not the people who are perfect as what they teach or preach. We just deliver the truth whether even if we fail, again because we deliver the message of God that this society needs, not ours Philippians 3:13-15 New International Version (NIV) Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
