When Israel was about to cross the Jordan river, Joshua's concern was that God would be honored and glorified. That God alone would receive the credit for the miracle which was about to take place.

God was demonstrating His power and majesty to the pagan world, to lost mankind, to men and women and children whom He loved and whom He wanted to turn to Him in faith and obedience.
