The Disturbing Results of “State of Theology” Survey - Evangelical Christians Desperately Need to Study God’s Word!
Ligonier Ministries teamed up with LifeWay Research for the biennial “State of Theology” survey to examine the differences between everyday Americans and Evangelicals on their beliefs about God, truth, the Bible, and ethical issues. They spoke to a representative sample of 3,000 people.
Guest host Adam McManus interviews Dr. Stephen Nichols, the President of Reformation Bible College and the Chief Academic Officer for Ligonier Ministries, as they examined statements like: “God accepts the worship of all religions including Christianity, Judaism, and Islam”, “Jesus was a great teacher, but He was not God”, “Everyone sins a little, but most people are good by nature”, “Modern science disproves the Bible”, “Christians should be silent on issues of politics”, and “The Bible is the highest authority for what I believe.” Respondents indicated whether they strongly agree, somewhat agree, are not sure, somewhat disagree, or strongly disagree.
Look at the key findings and at the 35 statements as a family and examine the Scriptures connected with each. The results reveal that Evangelicals desperately need to study God’s Word.
