Christianity Today reports on the rise of what they call the “Plato-loving, homeschool elitists.” But, do we really want to raise elitists? Does pride and elitism really help us, at the end of the day, or is it counter productive to all that is good? We develop a little more on what Parmenides, Zeno, Plato, Aristotle, Socrates, Sophocles, and Euripides really taught. We pull apart their worldviews and point out that their meta-ethic and metaphysic was fundamentally flawed from the outset. The futile thinking of the Greeks destroyed their big empire in 7 years, and brought them to birth-implosions, abortion, and sexual dysfunctionality. . . sort of like the Western world today.

Lifeway research has found that 65% of Protestant churchgoers say they can “walk with God without other believers.” Only 9% strongly disagreed with that statement, and felt the church community was very important for their walk with God. But, what happens to an ear when it is cut off from a body? Isolation is a means of apostasy, especially in the modern age. The church has lost respect, big time. But so have pastors — they are among the most despised lot in the country today.

Hong Kong is the most free nation in the world according to the Heritage Foundation’s Freedom Index, and this nation is fighting tooth and nail to retain these freedoms. The reason, of course, is that freedom is only possible because of the Christian heritage of 175 years of missionary work in Hong Kong. We play real footage of Christians singing Christian hymns on the streets of Hong Kong as they seek freedom from communist rule. This is a major indication of Christ’s influence in the east, after 2,500 terrible years of tyranny in China.
