The Burlington Homeschool MurdersThe Burlington Homeschool Murders continue to shake Colorado and the nation. The 12-year-old accused has reportedly confessed of the terrible crime. But, why? Why do kids kill? Why do kids from Christian families kill? These are the questions Kevin Swanson grapples with on this segment of Generations. Psychiatrists warn of the causes of abuse, emotionally absent fathers, controlling mothers, growing narcissism in the culture, escalating violence or anger in the home, etc. But which is it? Nature or nurture? Why do kids kill?

The Japanese Quake and the AftermathIt was the most significant national disaster since World War II for the nation of Japan. The saga of the 2011 earthquake is playing itself out over weeks and perhaps even months. Will Japan be able to work its way out of this disaster, as it rebuilt the nation in the 1950s and 1960s? Doubtful. Western materialism, existentialism, and birth implosions have done at least as much harm as the 2011 earthquake. On this segment of the program, Kevin Swanson interacts with Rob Bell’s interview on MSNBC. Is God behind this earthquake? And if so, how can a good God bring this evil upon man? Is man the victim of the brute chance in a purely materialistic universe, or is there some other explanation for these disasters?

A Single Mother’s EnterpriseThere aren’t many people in the modern world that bear more of a burden than a single Christian mother, who is trying to raise her children with a godly vision. In one of our most helpful and practical interviews, Mary Jo Tate explains how a mother keeps it all in balance, stays organized, and achieves some degree of financial stability.

How the Other Side Will LoseShould Christians be involved in politics? Up to this point, Christians have had marginal if any impact in the issues of socialism, abortion, and the rise of the homosexual nation. Kevin Swanson invites Steve Vaughan back into the studio for a discussion on Colorado politics and US politics. Then Kevin Swanson presents a "Strategy for Losing" for the other side. But as it turns out, they're already implementing it.

Are Children a Pain, or a Blessing?Time Magazine offers another list of reasons not to have children. They're a pain! They're expensive! And they make parents angry and depressed, so scientists say. Kevin Swanson and Steve Vaughan interact with the article, and draw surprisingly different conclusions. If you're building a family economy, children can be a wonderful blessing!

The Destruction of Society 'Transparency International' has for many years published an index of the level of corruption of nations around the globe. The United States has been slipping in the index for many years and in this past year's assessment it has fallen out of the top twenty to the twenty-second position of least corrupt nations. This is not because other nations have become less corrupt, but because the cancer of corruption is spreading on our shores. In fact corruption is so entrenched and spreading so fast that 'Transparency International' may have been generous in their original assessment. Dave Buehner looks at some examples of corruption and the only solution that has or can ever lead to a free society without corruption.

Why the Doctrine of the Trinity MattersThe most fundamental building block of a biblical worldview is the doctrine of the Trinity. Most Christians would probably sort of agree, "Oh yeah, that old doctrine. Like, whatever!" What makes this doctrine so important? How does it affect the way we think about salvation, marriage, prayer. . .and well, just about everything? Dr. Fred Sanders has authored a new book called, "The Deep Things of God: How the Trinity Changes Everything." Here he converses with Kevin Swanson on the rich and powerful implications of this fundamental doctrine. If you want your children to be Christians, train them to be Trinitarian!

The Father of Your FaithIf you live in America, if you live in northern Europe, chances are your Christian faith has some connection to a man who lived in the 5th century in Ireland. The world celebrates St. Patrick's Day, but sadly they have never read his Confessions! Kevin Swanson interviews Michael McHugh, author of a new book, "The Life and Legacy of St. Patrick." Your family will be encouraged and amazed at the adventuresome life of St. Patrick as he faced down the Druids, slave-traders, and human-sacrificing pagans in Ireland.

Questioning the High Priests of OrthodoxyAccording to USA Today, the earth has undergone mass extinctions EXACTLY FIVE TIMES in 540 MILLION YEARS. Exactly five times, mind you! Exactly five times! Woe unto the man that will question the scientific establishment and their "established certainties!" But Kevin Swanson and Dave Buehner do just that on this program. Daring the unthinkable, they ask a few questions of the high priests of scientific orthodoxy. Kevin Swanson gives a list of evidence he would require (as a rational human being), if he were to believe in a "theory of macro-evolution."

Snow-flake Children, Secular Foster Systems, and PatricideA homeschooled 12-year-old is being charged with killing his parents last week in eastern Colorado. These stories are not new. A 10-year-old from Ohio is charged with shooting his mother a few weeks ago after she asked him to gather firewood. Two-three generations of cultural dishonor towards parents is beginning to bear fruit. Maybe Jesus had it right in Matthew 15. Then, the high court in the UK commits the foster care system to sodomites and those in favor of the act, rejecting Christians carte blanche. This leads to a discussion on adoption, "snowflake" children, and the Christian's responsibility in the Brave New World.
