The Difference Between True and False Discernment Part 3

August 23, 2017

Discernment is the unique quality that God equips His people with to be able to understand unmistakably any situation with an individual, a group, or culture in general; in other words, it is the ability to know truth from error, and right from wrong. Who in their right mind wouldn't want good discernment?

How do we understand reality? How do we interpret our thoughts, and our emotions to understand the material world we live in? To reach proper discernment of all matters and arrive at a good interpretation requires a higher level of understanding. Jesus is our guide that though he lived in a human body Jesus had no limitations and the key is a personal relationship with God and his Word. This is available to all.

One essential aspect in the life of every professing Christian is discernment. Even though, to a certain degree every person throughout life makes decisions to distinguish what is right from what is the wrong, regardless of their personal beliefs. We all want the good, better and the best of our decisions. We also know wrong judgment has negative consequences. So how does discernment protect us?

We hear much about fake news these days, what about the fake news on the end of the world? The speculators of biblical prophecy are accelerating their failed date setting for the return of Christ and continue to look for signs in the heavens and in global catastrophes to get their bearings. What is wrong with that picture? To discern it properly, you must be a serious student of God's Word. There is no other fully credible manual for life.

Only irrational people or those who want to see the destruction of the United States opposed the use of military response to the continuous threats coming from NOKO. Kim Jong-Un has stated, that his goal to restart the war against the USA and South Korea to settle the unfinished war started by his grand father with nuclear weapons is not a light matter. It is the responsibility of the Commander-in-Chief of the United States of America to see that the American society is protected against foreign and internal aggression, that is the oath of office of every president.

We are witnessing history unfold in ways we perhaps didn't anticipate would happen in our lifetime. Problems and conflicts have increased rapidly. When we learn what causes the problems we can fix them. But in the meantime the threat of armed conflict is hanging over our heads. What does the Bible say about war and how is it different from self-defense. In Luke 22:36, knowing he would soon be leaving earth, Jesus told his disciples "let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one." Not for them to initiate armed conflict but to have something to defend themselves. When people don't have a way to defend themselves anarchy sets in. In anarchy chaos sets in and no one is safe.

The turmoil in the world is rapidly intensifying. Threats of war and conflict are coming from several directions. Conflicts are part of the human trajectory as far back as written history informs us. However, humankind had never had nuclear weapons with such far reaching deadly effects that could annihilate so many lives. So through what lens do we interpret our times and what is to be done about all these serious threats. We know that the Bible is our guide book but the further any of God’s people are from understanding all Scripture the easier it is to be in biblical error. Is the current Bible illiteracy among God's people the real threat?

There is much threat in the world that is real. Many confusions are taking place and will continue to increase. This is the story of the human race. Life goes through many cycles as it say in Ecclesiastes 3:1, 8b "For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven--a time for war, and a time for peace. So what is God saying at this time?

God cannot betray himself and is always true to his word. He is truthful to his blameless character. He always wins in time and history; the nations are on trial, not him. God is preeminent in all things, not men. Two kingdoms operate in this world God’s and Satan’s, guess whose is always condemned to fail? This is the confidence that we have to be able to pray as Jesus did, "Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven."

America, more than the rest of the nations, is in deep trouble. How did we get to this condition? For several generations the majority of Christians surrendered their biblical position when they stopped being the salt and light of the nation. How long are we to be in this perilous situation? That will be up to Christians if they embrace God’s ways or not.

When people arrive at power they don't want let go easily and will do whatever it takes to hang on, even if it means compromising on their values and committing fraud on the constituents that voted them in. This is why we must pray for all those in authority, good or bad, so God can keep them in check and we can vote them out in the next election. Christians should never disassociate themselves from their world and they must constantly look for ways to can make it better. Ultimately, God will hold us responsible.

About The Future of America

We want to help restore America's original foundation in biblical Christian principles which made it the most powerful and prosperous nation in the world in a relatively short time but America has not reached it full potential. Ideas have consequences and they are passed on from generation to generation. To eradicate error, the moral and ethical principles of the Bible must be firmly established in the hearts and minds of each individual. If America is going to survive, its citizens must become re-acquainted with its history, heritage and biblical immovable principles and apply them once again to all areas of life. We hope this program will inspire and challenge you so together we can fulfill our responsibility before God and country to make the difference for our generation many generations to come.
