Are Rich People Good or Bad for Society? Part 1

November 15, 2010
The rich in the USA are being attacked like never before under this administration. It seems this administration is clueless how capital was created since colonial times when the free market was established in this part of the world. The rich have become targets of envy. Those on the left get so upset when the idea of a tax break for the rich is talked about. Do you know that the top 50% of wage earners pay 96% of all income taxes?

National obedience to godly principles is a must. America has a good chance to retake God's principles as revealed in God's law and lead the nations to God. If America refuses to obey God's commandments then it forfeits any claims to God's economic blessings and social peace.

Every human being is involved in politics. Whether they know it or not, accept or reject it, this is a fact. When people say they are apolitical (non political) normally they think they are making a statement that means: I am not involved, I do not care for politics. A misconception of politics in most people’s minds is that it is limited to civil government. However, that is far from the truth. Every person has an opinion with respect to political questions related to any area of social life; that alone takes the individual into the area of politics, willingly or unwillingly.

Misinterpretations of the Bible have resulted in short circuiting the church’s mission in the world. Due to these mistaken interpretations and applications of popular Bible texts to contemporary issues, the Christian faith is being thrown out and trampled underfoot by men (Matthew 5:13).

Is government God's idea or man's idea? Who invented it? Does the God who rules the universe have something to teach us about good government? Psalm 22:28 says, "For the kingdom is the Lord's and He rules the nations." Aren't we to be about out Father's business? If the righteous don't step up to their rightful place of rulership the ungodly will fill those spaces for there are no vacuums in leadership.

Now that the elections are over, what comes next? The citizenry, especially God's people, must recognize and accept the obligations that come with such a victory. That means we must be vigilant to the type of laws the legislators will be wanting to pass and make sure these don't violate God's established order in all areas of life. God does make us responsible.

The outcome of these mid-term elections shows a ray of hope for the United States of America. It is a ray of hope with an enormous responsibility. The huge voter turnout clearly shows that people who were slumbering have awakened and acted upon their civic duty. The message from "We the People" was loud and clear, "let's clean house." No one should be more in the forefront to lead this charge as God's people should. The elections were only the initial step toward accomplishing the reclaiming of America.

Election Day! Are you a Christian and a U.S. citizen? Did you vote? It is way over due for Christians to take responsibility for the condition of America. We cannot continue to blame anyone else but ourselves. We are God's stewards; the ungodly to not have this responsibility. God makes us, the Bible believing Christians, responsibility for the outcome of the elections, and for what we do after the election season.

In American society when people hear the word “tyranny” they associate it with a despot ruling his country by force due to absolute power. Since America became a nation Americans have not experienced giving absolute power to one man. However, very few know that tyranny not necessarily does it have to do with one individual having unrestrained exercise of power. Do you know how else tyranny manifests?

How do you answer that question? If you have been told that Christians are not to be engaged in politics you have been misled. Do you know that biblical Christianity is a revolutionary concept designed to change not only the individual but also cultures?

What is the true role of a public servant? What guidelines do we use in electing public servants? What do we expect from them? Do we make impossible demands from our public servants and force them to lie just so they can get elected? Do they understand that they are not to meet the needs of people but serve out of love and sacrifice for the common good? Jesus said whoever wants to be great must be the servant of all.

About The Future of America

We want to help restore America's original foundation in biblical Christian principles which made it the most powerful and prosperous nation in the world in a relatively short time but America has not reached it full potential. Ideas have consequences and they are passed on from generation to generation. To eradicate error, the moral and ethical principles of the Bible must be firmly established in the hearts and minds of each individual. If America is going to survive, its citizens must become re-acquainted with its history, heritage and biblical immovable principles and apply them once again to all areas of life. We hope this program will inspire and challenge you so together we can fulfill our responsibility before God and country to make the difference for our generation many generations to come.
