Are You Qualified?

December 14, 2019

Over 30 years ago, Rick was sentenced to 168 years in prison. While inside, he became a believer and learned a great deal about God’s grace. Now, Rick has been released and has a heart for Jesus.

Recently, he was invited to become a chaplain at a campground but was told by others that he was not qualified to minister to others because of his past.

Rick called in to our radio program to ask if it would be a mistake for him to take the position as a campground chaplain. In this short clip, I address Rick’s concern.

In many ways, this speaks to our own fears of being unqualified to share the good news with other people. I hope it is encouraging to you today!

Jack called in to our radio program to ask about depression and the believer. In response to Jack’s question, I reference Lamentations and Psalms and discuss potential roots of depression. I also discuss that deeper place within us – deeper than our brain or body – from which we can be counseled and comforted by Christ himself. I hope this is a real encouragement to you today if you suffer from bouts of depression. And if you know someone who might benefit from this, consider passing it along to them as well.

And how does this relate to you being born of the Spirit?  In this full-length message, I address 10 myths that hinder us from realizing our righteousness.

The believer’s righteousness is the meat of the Gospel message. Are we really as righteous as Jesus? What does it mean to be righteous? How is it more than just being “clothed” in Christ’s righteousness? Here I discuss our righteousness from various angles, and this important message has the potential to both surprise and encourage you.
