July 22, 2020

Scientism is more than ever the dominant religion of the post-Christian world. Scores of young people are walking away from the faith, and so much of the reason is tied into the influence of scientism. We speak with Dr. JP Moreland, distinguished professor of philosophy at Biola University, the preeminent thinker on a Christian apologetics on this attack on the faith. What are the limitations of science and why does scientism make for a bad worldview?

The fastest growing pastime now is computer games and sports simulations. We play the game of somebody playing a game, and we can watch somebody playing the game of somebody playing a game. The embedded non-realities pile up, and we have lost touch entirely with the real world now. The marketshare for these unrealities is ten times that of movies and music now. The escape from reality is total now. But, how would you wake a young man who is lost in the metaphor? Only by the gift of repentance - a renewed mind that only comes by a miracle of God.

It wasn’t the Muslims. It wasn’t the Greeks. It wasn’t the Chinese. It was Christians who brought the blessing of the hard sciences and the most useful inventions to the whole world. There were three major scientific revolutions in the world which produced 99% of the science and technology we use in our day — all brought about by Christians in the Western world. There would be no refrigerators, ovens, washers and dryers, toasters, blenders, HVAC systems, computers, electronic devices, automobiles, trains, and airplanes without these scientific foundations laid by Christians. Then, the Western world without Christ destroyed science in the 21st century. What’s next?

This is shaping up to be the most incendiary election in American history, with the possible exception of 1860. So who are we voting for on the presidential ballot in 2020? Before answering this question, we have a few other questions to ask.

All things work together for good is a principle Christians go with in our individual lives — but this we find operating on the macro level too. We provide nine devastating geopolitical events which produced good for the Church of Christ through the ages. What will the current worldwide economic depression produce for the cause of Christ? All good and all for God’s glory.

To be an evangelist, you cannot merely pretend to know and believe the truths of your sin, heaven, hell, and Jesus. It must be real in our own lives, and then it will pour out to others around us. Have we been broken first? Have we been the recipients of unspeakable grace? Every Christian has a duty to evangelism, but it’s not really a duty. It’s a life.

The branches are humbled. That’s the moral of this story, taken from Romans 11. We look at Pew Research’s Global Attitudes Survey, and find that the richest nations are the Western nations, and. . . the most decadent - exceeding the immorality of India, Africa, etc. We also look at the Balance Sheet of the largest governments in the world — and sure enough. . .all European and North American countries are in the red. China, Korea, Russia, and Indonesia are in the black. Here is the clarion call for humility.

Bill Jack and Kevin Swanson discuss the continuing Coronavirus pandemic. They discuss the fixation on scientific opinions, rather than actual facts and data. They also talk about the importance of love and Christian liberty within the church.

We cover several important current issues of the day, including the decriminalization of polygamy unravelling 1,500 years of Christian influence in the West. Hardly anybody heard about it. Then, we provide a short discussion on “The Chosen” — a new television series depiction of the life of “Christ.” Catholics, Mormons, and evangelicals agree. It’s a great show. But, why is it so difficult to portray the two natures of Christ in film, distinct, not to be mixed, and not be separated? Here is an interesting Christological conundrum.

We were amazed to watch as God used Justice John Roberts to expand the Island of Freedom for Christians on two separate occasions over the last week. What is happening here? Justice Roberts paves the way for more killing of children on three cases, but exempts Christians from the abortifacient mandate! The world can homosexualize every business and public school, but Christians can exempt themselves by homeschooling, and receive something of a tax credit in the process. The world is deceived now, and the world is burning down around us with full endorsement of the US Supreme Court. What is this?

The revolution has kicked in to a high gear at this point. We wanted to catch up with Curtis Bowers, producer of the award-winning documentary, “Agenda — Grinding America Down,” on this segment of the program. Where are we now in the Agenda, and how does this compare to the communist insurrections happening in America in the 1960s? The agenda is advancing.
