Guest host Adam McManus talks with Kevin Swanson and Pastor Norris Bain of Tabernacle Baptist Church in the Bahamas about the week-long effort that the Generations team of 12 volunteers are a part of as they replace dry wall and patch the roofs of Freeport Gospel Chapel and Tabernacle Baptist. Pastor Bain said, “Like 9/11 changed the United States forever, Hurricane Dorian changed the Bahamas forever.” Their church, located 15 miles inland from the Atlantic coast, was soaked by 5 feet of water, requiring that they gut everything, replace all the electrical outlets, drywall, furniture, and computers. The damage will cost $250,000. Plus, the hurricane dropped five 40-foot-long boats in their neighborhood. Thanks to the funding of 150,000 pounds of dry wall and roofing materials from Generations listeners and the volunteer labor of Kevin’s team, the Bahamian church is receiving desperately needed help. Pastor Bain said, “A thousand tongues could not say thank you enough to Generations for what they are doing here on the island of Grand Bahama. There is not enough paper for us to write ‘thank you’ to this ministry for what they have done and how they are impacting our church. It’s just unbelievable! We are forever grateful.” Kevin said, “Everyone on our team would say this is one of the best experiences of our lives. She shares the keys to personal revival. They include meditative time in the Word of God, reading Christian biographies, choosing forgiveness and gratitude, and a willingness to be a mentor to the younger and a student who listens to the wiser. If more Christians would implement those disciplines, we would see revival catch fire in our families, cities, and the nation.

How do Christians handle the world of social media? How important is our privacy? Are there potentially dangerous consequences to major powers knowing everything there is to know about us? Do we have anything to hide? We need to be as wise as serpents and harmless as doves when it comes to these things, and use much discernment. Facebook has caused countless problems in the lives of families and churches, although there may be a few useful ways to utilize it. The most recent report indicates that now 37% of Planned Parenthood's budget comes from state and federal funding, and they are getting more opportunities than ever to kill babies. It seems that many today are pragmatic, having compromised on the principle of God's creation of life in the womb, and the guilt of our sin and selfishness is everywhere. However, we come back to blood of Christ that heals and cleanses us from all sin, and encourage the taking up of our cross in joyful service to Him.

A battle is heating up. Will 2020 be a year that evangelicals split apart on the right things or the wrong things? Will evangelicalism split down the middle on Donald Trump and Immigration policy? Or will evangelicalism split right down the middle on things like the Definition of Sin, the Law of God, the Power of the Gospel to transform lives and to provide a new identity and a new orientation in Christ? Thoughtful Christians will want to be careful not to split apart the body on the gnats, on questionable issues, or on third-level applications. Here are some principles to consider as we approach the 2020 elections.

The second largest protestant denomination in America has fairly collapsed by a rejection of the Gospel. They could not believe that the Gospel could save people from their sins. This apostasy is the most indescribably shameful, wicked, and conspicuously evil in the history of the Christian church. But why did the conservatives have to leave, if they were winning every vote in the assembly? Why are the conservatives always pushed out?

The fires in Australia are another critical reminder that the fear of God is the most important lesson of all. Modern man finds the sovereign hand of God over the fires and the floods as utterly abhorrent. . .for several reasons. If there is a god, in their view He must be nice, because we’re all so nice, and all. . . If these nations do not learn something of the fear of God, what will happen to them?

Here is one of the most shocking exposes on the cultural revolution, led mainly by the entertainment industry and Hollywood in particular. Eric Holmberg illustrates the incredible power of Hollywood to lead a nation to cultural degradation and ruin. Always staying a little ahead of the immorality curve, sexuality on the movie screen moved from married people sleeping in separate beds to the ultimate sexual degradation. What will the future hold for entertainment?  Will this take us back to the last days of Pompeii, and Rome?

Are we supposed to be high art snobs when it comes to music? Or should we reject the high art for the more humble folk art? As more of medical care, education, and welfare is turned over to the government, increasingly bureaucracies will confiscate children and control medical decisions over the American family. Freedom disappears as people begin taking the government welfare provided by the state (whether that be schooling, Obamacare or welfare).
