Normalizing Dragons or Killing Them - The Psalm 144 Vision

April 15, 2019

A film director of the leading children’s film in the world right now explains how he is normalizing dragons, inclusivism, and homosexuality, and that sort of thing. Do we normalize dragons? Do we train dragons or do we kill them? Psalm 144 calls us to fight the world and seek the covenant blessings of faithful children, polished cornerstones, and fruitful plants.

Is the final judgment coming? The statistics seem to bear it out. Since 1960, the world has come under severe judgment. According to many of the biblical descriptions of judgment, most of the world has fallen sharply into almost all of these conditions. We look at debt. . . birth implosions. . . females leading states. . . and homosexuality. Also, the state of the church in America is not much better. The top best selling Christian books ten years ago were written mostly by men. Now, they are ALL written by women evangelical leaders. We provide some guidance from 2 Peter 2 and Psalm as to the mindset Christians need at this critical hour.

The Christian colleges are quickly jettisoning creation and biblical sexual ethics as “essentials” to the faith. Can we abandon God’s law and creation just as long as we hold on to some weak conception of justification by faith alone. About 7% of Christian colleges are holding strong on creation. What happens to the faith when the epistemological authority of God and the ethical authority of God is removed?

Has the pro-life movement been hampered by a lack of principle. . .an unwillingness to just say “No” to killing babies? We descend into sin incrementally, but must repentance be likewise incremental? We discuss the importance of a heart commitment to principle, and a rejection of halfway measures when it comes to something as wicked as killing babies. But, must the church first repent of using abortifacient birth control pills before we go after the heathen and their affinity to infanticide?

The 19th century produced the wrong kind of piety, that worked hard for the elimination of the death penalty and the outlawing of alcohol. The civil magistrate today maintains about a 0.1% obedience ratio to God’s law, and that’s down from about 0.6% in 1999, when it comes to dealing with the murderer. God has commanded us to do justly, to love mercy, and walk humbly before our God. What would it look like if we took 1 for 3 or 2 for 3, but refused to live according to all three?

Bookstores are clogged with thousands of self-help books — the first problem of which is what we cannot help ourselves. God must help us. Kevin Swanson briefly discusses the problems with the certain pentecostalist perspectives relating to signs and miracles, prayer, and the sovereignty of man. Then we look at some of the most commonly used self-help, success books on the market. We find that they tend to tout the wrong worldview, setting man’s sovereign will against the sovereignty of God. Then faith is placed more in self than in God. When both goal and motive is wrong, can we trust the method will be the right one?

The use of Ritalin has increased 89% in just the last four years, and now 20% of boys are diagnosed with ADHD. Dutch researchers have finally done a long-term effects study on the use of Ritalin. . . not good. What does God want of boys? Is it appropriate to nail every six-year-old boy to a chair for six hours a day? We outline the importance of biblical discipline, trusting God for His wisdom, and considering the spiritual element. We also contrast man’s standards for behavior with God’s standards.

Here is one of the most interesting stories you'll ever hear! It is the story of how a Planned Parenthood Director decided to walk across the street and join the pro-life organization that had opposed her for eight years! Worldviews clash. The truth is camouflaged by a hundred layers of deceit. But by the grace of God, some make it out. Abby Johnson tells her story on this edition of Generations. It is the dramatic story of a former Planned Parenthood Leader's eye-opening journey across the life line. You will get a look from both sides of the fence on this abortion issue. How do Planned Parenthood employees view themselves? How do they look at the pro-life community? How do we penetrate the powerful systems, the lies, and the funding that buttresses the pro-death culture in this country? Why is the church largely to blame for its failure to take a stand on this issue?

What will stop the bleeding as young people flock out of the church? Protestant pastors now see the problem as the public schools. But it will take far more than removing children out of public schools. The key is the heart of the father. Todd Kangas has 8 children and 10 grandchildren, and they are being raised in the Lord. Oh that fathers would love God, love the Word, and love their children. That would make all the difference.

The progressives are gradually working their way towards the complete implementation of Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s agenda. California and Colorado are working hard towards implementing total statism, this time by incorporating all-day, state-funded kindergarten. In the words of Adolf Hitler, “This new Reich will give its youth to no one, but will itself take youth and give to youth its own education and its own upbringing.” What is the best strategy for Christian leaders and parents who want to oppose complete state control of the minds and hearts of the children?

She’s the most popular children’s book author in evangelicalism today. But, is the problem with the Sally Lloyd-Jones’ new book “Goldfish on Vacation” that it includes a “homosexual family” and she appears to be on board with that? Or is the problem with the worldview? We take a look at Sally Lloyd-Jones’ worldview in the Jesus Storybook Bible. Then we ask the question why Christians are so infatuated with the Frozen motion picture and the radical humanist autonomy in Elsa’s song lyrics “Let it Be.” Whether or not she turns out to be a lesbian in Frozen II is virtually immaterial. This “no rules for me” worldview that slips into Christian children’s books and children’s movies is the old Satanic temptation that came in the garden.
