Maximizing Impact in Missions - How to Disciple the Nations on a Small Budget

August 7, 2018

Small churches are looking to maximize their impact in missions support. Large denominations funnel huge amounts of money into mission work that turns out to be inefficient use of resources. Can smaller churches provide ten times the impact with 1 one hundredth the resources? Mark Robinette shares how this was done by one small little church in Columbus, Ohio with the nation of Myanmar. How to disciple the nations on a pretty small budget, on this edition of Generations.  For more information on the mission work in Myanmar, go to missiontomyanmar.com.

Why do Presidents Clinton and Carter readily profess faith in Jesus, but not so for Donald Trump? Why are the pro-abortion and pro-homosexual presidents most likely to confess Christ? Which presidents are most likely in heaven, given a profession of faith in Christ as Savior is important to that end? Is attending a pro-homosexual church on Easter really enough to assume that Donald Trump is a Christian in fellowship with a body, and accountable to a spiritual eldership? We find at least six, maybe seven presidents who provided a credible profession of faith in Christ.

LGBT is in the museums, the colleges, the schools, the parades on the streets, the churches sponsored by the state and federal governments. Bill Jack tells of every church he passed in New Hampshire celebrated LGBT, and the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia is not celebrating LGBT.  God sovereignly brings His works of judgment by burning down California forests with unprecedentedly intense forest fires. But, is anybody listening? Jesus's words ring strong and loud again, "Unless you repent, you will all likewise perish."

Why is the Science Fiction genre so essential for the growth of atheism and agnosticism? What is the psychology of the atheist and how is he encouraged by the escape from God provided in Sci Fi? Carl Sagan, Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein, Arthur Clarke, Gene Roddenberry, H.G. Wells, L. Ron Hubbard, et al were the atheists, agnostics, and scientologists who developed the science fiction genre. They were the promulgators of the new religion called "scientism." We discuss these powerful ideas that have captured the imagination of modern man. Then, we ask the question - Should Christians be reading this stuff? How long does one sit in the seat of the scoffer, to be really sitting in his lap, for example?

The Gospel has been spreading for over 2000 years. It has reached the uttermost parts of the earth and is continuing to do so. One of these remote places is the high mountains of Tibet. In this program, Kevin interviews Pastor Paul from Tibet who shares his story about his conversion and God's incredible work in his life and so many other lives all throughout Nepal, India, Bhutan, and Tibet.

Some 65% of kids under 6 years of age are latchkey. Moms grapple with the higher calling. But, what are the things that matter most? Raising children and homeschooling them is not easy. On the one hand, it shouldn’t be that complicated. But it will require faith. That’s the testimony provided by Karen Debeus, as she speaks to her new book “Called Home - Finding Joy in Letting God Lead Your Homeschool".

Axios.com provides a powerful picture of thirty year old males. They are worse off. . . between 250% and 300% worse off financially and socially than they were in 1977 (using various metrics). The dissolution of character and family has taken a heavy toll. How then does one disciple a nation and change a culture? Whether we are looking at the social and moral degradation found among the Navajo tribes, the Filipinos, or the American suburban types. . . we still have a duty to disciple the nations. It is a long term project, and will no doubt require generations of work. Are we willing to bear down and begin disciple-ing?

Pop singer, Ariana Grande gets 45 million downloads for what may be the most blasphemous song of this generation. It’s feminist. It’s blasphemous. And it represents a somewhat weak attempt to restore the old Canaanite fertility cult. We remind our listeners what happened to Canaan, according to the instructions God gave in Deuteronomy 20:16-18. Ariana Grande claims in the new hit that “God is a woman.” We disagree. We also disagree with the gender neutral attempt made by the TNIV translation of the Bible, which has been dragged into the new NIV translation. God is not a woman, and the Bible is not nor should it be gender neutralized.

The Other Revoice Conference in Wurtzburg, Germany presents a new pedophilia as a natural, unchangeable orientation and to be accepted as such. The encouragement is celibacy for now, as in the case of the Revoice Conference in St. Louis, Missouri. We address the various arguments raised by Christian homosexual apologists on the second half of the program.

The Revoice Conference starts tomorrow in St. Louis, Missouri. We recommend that the PCA church cancel the Revoice Conference, the pastor resign, the church reconsider the Gospel and instead sponsor a Repent Conference or a Rejoice Conference. What should Christians do in Hawaii and Illinois that have moved to transgender and homosexualize the public schools? We recommend not stumbling children who believe in Jesus. We recommend that parents not normalize evil in the way they speak of the sins of fornication or homosexuality.
