Martyred for Christ in Iran - The Story of Haik Hovsepian - Some Gave All

January 4, 2017
No generation is without stories of true heroes of the faith. In our generation, one man will retain a place in the annals of Christian history until the end of the world. An Iranian martyr joins the ranks of Justin Martyr, Polycarp, Blandina, John Hus, George Wishart, Patrick Hamilton, and the two Margarets. Haik Hovsepian was an Iranian bishop, and martyred for Christ in 1994 even as he was trying to save the life of a friend. A recent documentary film produced by sons of the martyr relates this powerful story, and we interview his son Joseph in this segment of Generations.

Don't miss a story that will undoubtedly hold its place in Christian history for thousands of years hence. The full documentary is available from http://www.acryfromiran.com.

When ISIS threatens American churches, will they respond with fear, closing up their churches, and staying home? Christians have no business fearing man. The goal of terrorism is the fear of man, but that's not our religion. That's the religion of man. We respond with faith and love. Islamophobia has no place whatsoever in the true church. Nonetheless, is a security protocol for churches appropriate? This program includes:1. The symbol of the rainbow has gone to the homosexuals, but Christian organizations are attempting to reclaim it. We discuss God’s sign and the common grace promises signified. We also speak of the old conservatism that is dying out. Will a new Christian minority finally find rooting in a biblical worldview and ethic? Or will the synthesis slowly but surely dissolve whatever is left of the Christian influence in America? This program includes:1. It was the year of Brexit and Trump, the year that the "Establishment" takes it in the gut. It was the year of humbling, for everybody except for Trump. It was the year that God's sovereignty became more obvious. It was the year of terrorism, nationalist fervor, assisted suicide, transgendered bathrooms, and evangelical mommy bloggers turned Lesbians. Immorality increased, tyranny flatlined briefly, and God defends His people. This program includes:1. Three out five of the major homosexual leaders in the music business died in 2016. Is there any real coincidence in this world? God is in control, and when a man's time is up, indeed God will call him into judgment. We review the legacy of George Michael, Prince, and David Bowie. . .and then look at the two left -- Boy George and Elton John. What's next for them? Interestingly, these homosexual leaders are also very free with their reference to somebody named "Jesus." Everybody seems to want to have this "Jesus" for their friend. Of course, there are many Christs, but only one is the true Christ. This program includes:1. When held to the scrutiny of honest questions, evolution collapses like a house of cards. What we’ve learned about the Genome mitigates against evolution. What we’ve learned about the fossil record mitigates against evolution. What we’ve learned about mutations and natural selection mitigates against evolution. What we’ve learned about the Big Bang mitigates against evolution. Kevin Swanson interviews Dr. Robert Carter on the latest book Evolution’s Achilles Heel. This program includes: 1. National Geographic hits a new low with a cover that sexualizes a 9-year-old boy and attempts to normalize the transgender thing. We identify the more fundamental problems with the thinking of parents and children that sink to these depths. We discuss Pelagianism, Autonomy, and the Purely Materialist Worldview. National Geographic has led the way glorifying the noble savage, defending a naturalistic evolutionary theory, and other neo-pagan ideas. This program includes:1. The murder is down in America by 200%, gun ownership is up by 300%, and America’s governments compliance to God’s law has dropped off by 400% since 1994. We calculate a submission to God’s law ratio (when it comes to God’s requirements of civil government). And, America gets an F on the report card. We also review courts in England and America that would submit to God’s law and execute murderers. But, they would brings pastors in to preach and to call them to repentance. We record instances where pastors would climb up on the gallows and continue to call men to repentance and to faith in Christ, until the executioner followed through on his civil responsibilities. We are a long way from where Christians would teach the law and the Gospel. This program includes:1. A Christian leader known for advocating drinking alcohol is arrested for drunk driving. Some Christians are calling into question any and all use of alcohol, but what is the biblical view on this? We point out a National Health Institute study on Christians and obesity. Some denominations are 3-10X more likely to be obese, and they happen to be the denominations more down on drinking alcohol. What are the more fundamental issues that address all of these hypocrisies and sins? What's the problem with our thinking on these things that lead to excess? What are the more important issues we are missing here? This program includes:  1. WARNING: Some explicit details are shared in this testimony, which may not be appropriate for young children. Here is a powerful story of a man who discovers the power of God's love as he is miraculously delivered from a life of abject slavery to sexual sin. Mike Genung finds God's love to be far more powerful, far more beautiful, and far more life-giving than the death of pornography, adultery, and the blackness of hell. Mike's simple, honest, heartfelt testimony is especially helpful for those who have been through a hundred 12-step programs to no avail. This program includes:1.
