Finding Meaning, Beauty, Glory in Fallen Creation - The Riot and the Dance

August 21, 2019

If the BBC and the Discovery Channel believed in God, how would this change their view of the world and their productions on the wonders of nature? What is the explanation for the ugliness, the cuteness, the wisdom, the intricacies, the variety, the power, and the beauty of the animal world? Why are their poisonous snakes, predators, and parasites in the world around us? Here is a discussion on how we might restore a sense of wonder and purpose, and an eschatological hope into our study of nature all around us.

Fifty years ago, 400,000 young teens and twenty-somethings descended on Max Yasgur’s dairy farm in upstate New York. The gathering signaled a revolution, but not with guns and Molotov cocktails. It was far worse. The devastation is all around us. “Woodstock won.” We contrast the Browns and Johnny Horton of 1959 with Joe McDonald and the F word of 1969. The fallout is still happening.

The abandonment of faith or the concession of shaky faith on the part of Marty Sampson, the Hillsong songwriter leads to a discussion on romanticism and religion. The equation of authenticity to the intensity of emotional outpouring is a fatal mistake committed too often by the new generation. There is the false impression — The most emotionally expressive person is the most pious, holy, genuine, and committed person. That is the worldview of Romanticism. . .and it has infiltrated a great deal of modern religion in the western world. How would you gage authenticity of faith, if you were to leave music to the side?

Beth Moore is backing off calling homosexual sin as sin. We react strongly against a namby-pamby, softy-wofty Christian message — that soft-pedals the law and soft-pedals grace and Christ’s violent work on the cross, destroying sin and death. Why is there such an antipathy towards strong words, certainty, faith, and conviction on the part of the Christian snowflakes?

It was the most publicized martyrdom of the 2000s. Three Christian men were most viciously tortured and killed in Malatya Turkey on April 18, 2007. Today, we interview the widow of martyr, Necati Aydin, and we tell this story that really needs to be told, again and again. How does one recover from this? How can one rejoice and be exceedingly glad after such horrific experiences as this?  Shamse Aydin’s testimony is among the most inspiring of our times.

The Jeffrey Epstein conspiracy theory promises to rattle around for a long time, following his reported “suicide” in a NYC prison. His association with two presidents, one prime minister, and a British prince further extenuates the suspicions of perfidy at the highest levels. We offer a biblical view of conspiracy theories, and how Christians must insist on truth and only speak truth in these matters. We react to facts and require a biblical interpretation of those facts.

Apparently, the Boy Scouts are next in line for the scandalous behavior that has surfaced in the Roman Catholic Church and hundreds of other institutions and organizations in America. But, whence comes this scourge? We attempt to explain the worldview shift and the apostasy that underlies the modern, abusive, destructive, horrible, evil plague that fell upon children and society in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. We trace the roots of the sexual autonomy and self-oriented abusive mindset to the Warren Court decision of 1957, when the men in black redefined obscenity to allow for just about everything.

China is removing mentions of God and Christ from children’s classics like ‘Robinson Crusoe’. How is this different from American government-funded schools? The worldview war around the whole world is centered on the children, and the curriculum used for their education? Whether it is communist China or American private and public schools — there is a tug-a-war going on over the hearts and the minds of our children. Who will win?

The media using mass murders to work a political agenda. The people are looking for environmental causes that influence these tragic events. But, we encourage our listeners to seek the truth — the truth concerning trends, the truth concerning solution for societal problems, the truth concerning right and wrong, and an avoidance of hypocrisies. While others are pointing at guns, video games, militaristic government, and other external influences as the cause for this violence, we turn to the words of Christ. The problem is the human heart, and the human mind. We address the worldview and the underlying thinking that is going on in the murderous minds of the moderns.

Why does Lots’ wife look longingly back into Sodom? What is it about Sodom? Joshua Harris denies the faith, and promptly proceeds to join the “pride” march. We contrast the “intellectual honesty” of Joshua Harris with the PCUSA and ELCA on this edition of the program. What’s our response to this reality our Lord spoke of, and the Apostles warned of in Hebrews, Jude, 2 Peter, and 2 Timothy?

No generation is without stories of true heroes of the faith. In our generation, one man will retain a place in the annals of Christian history until the end of the world. He joins the ranks of Justin Martyr, Polycarp, Blandina, John Hus, George Wishart, Patrick Hamilton, and the two Margarets. Haik Hovsepian was an Iranian bishop, and martyred for Christ in 1994 even while he was doing all he could to save the life of a friend. The story is best told by his own son, Joseph, on this edition of the program. We pray this moving interview will inspire our listeners to give up all for Christ.
