Centralization vs. Decentralization - Will Texas Secede?

December 14, 2012
Ron Paul speaks of secession as a "deeply American value." Several years ago, Governor Rick Perry reminded everybody that "we can leave anytime we want." Now citizens of Texas of collected 100,000+ signatures to petition the United States government on the secession issue. Decentralization is often more beneficial for freedom that the centralizing state that works to aggrandize the size of government at the expense of the citizenry. Kevin Swanson compares America to the fall of the Roman Empire, and the opportunities that opened up for Christianity after the fall of Rome. He also interviews Larry Kilgore (gubernatorial candidate in 2008 and 2010) on his support for the secession movement in Texas.

Rick Warren, a public Christian leader, is "uncertain if homosexual behavior is sinful" but more certain that "gays go to heaven." Are we trying to be "relevant" to a crowd of apostates or marketing to the mob beating down the door of Lot's house? Will the homosexuals be pacified with a concession here and there? Then again, the Sodomites weren't pacified by Lot's offer of his daughters. On this edition of Generations, Kevin Swanson tries to figure out why Christian leaders are ratcheting up the squish factor when it comes to sins like homosexuality.

On this edition of Generations, Kevin Swanson covers Forbes Magazine's "Most Powerful People in the World." Why does the Gates Foundation commit to obliterating family-integrated economies in Africa and exporting Western existentialism, abortifacient contraception, and individualism to third world nations? Most of these powerful people are busy doing destructive things to post-modern economies, but there are some Christians out there still "discipling the nations."

The universities guarantee a leftist, humanist direction for America, and they have for about 300 years. Shall we send our Christian daughters or homeschooled children to these universities? Kevin Swanson outlines the risks involved in the university scene today, pleading with parents to take a hard right when the universities take a hard left!

Why do teens kill? Random violent killing in schools is on the rise. Phil Chalmers is America's leading authority on juvenile homicide and juvenile mass murder. He has interviewed over 200 teen killers and school shooters. According to Phil, there are multiple factors that play into this type of crime, but there is one universal factor that plays into it every time. The influence of media on young people is more powerful and insidious than you think.

Do you ever wonder why twice as many Liberal Arts professors in Christian Colleges hold to an old earth evolutionary scheme than Science professors? Why are Christian liberal arts programs so liberal? Ken Ham from Answers in Genesis joins us on this segment of Generations to explain the results of a survey of Christian colleges recently performed.

What should you do with a special needs child? Should you just let him die? This program refers to a twelve-page, blow-by-blow article from The Denver Post documenting the 3-week-long death of a little boy deprived of palliative care. It is a macabre story. Worst of all, "Jesus" told the family to do it—and a pastor from a local church was there to "support" the family as they removed the feeding tube. In this touching and heart-wrenching program, Kevin compares two little boys with nearly identical physical disabilities requiring extra care. Simon is a blessing to all who love him, but Dylan was murdered in the name of love. So what is the difference? On this edition of Generations, Kevin speaks with Cheryl Nelson (Simon's mother), focusing on what a tremendous blessing Simon has been over the years. Simon was 6 years old when this program first aired six years ago. Today, Simon is still hanging in there, and his family continues to provide 24/7 care for him.

With 60% of Americans receiving their checks from the government, what happens to those who still want to be free? Should they get in line for welfare or unemployment with the rest? Is it immoral to take money from the government? Kevin Swanson interacts with listeners who are struggling with taking government checks—whether it is social security, unemployment, or good ol' fashioned welfare.

"Don't watch my filthy show!" Angus T. Jones, television actor on Two and a Half Men, attempts to discourage Christians from watching the show. Apparently, too many things are made light of-such as sexual orgies, homosexuality, and bestiality. It's not good for kids. The big question though is whether Angus's comments will actually increase the show's popularity. Kevin Swanson questions the involvement of Christians in cultural systems that are moving in the wrong direction. Then we take a look at a recent study done on children raised in homosexual homes.
