A Generational Vision

Brutally Realistic, Outrageously Optimistic
Here is a radio program that gets to the heart of what it will take to renew our faith, really strengthen our families, and solidify freedoms for future generations. In the radical dissolution of these values in the modern world, desperate times call for desperate measures. That's why we talk about the renewal of fatherhood and family discipleship, and the dismantling of the public school system. We bring the objective truth and ethics of God's Word to bear in every area of life, and challenge fathers to inculcate this vision into the generations! On the 5th year anniversary of this one-of-a-kind radio broadcast, Kevin Swanson defines the program as brutally realistic and outrageously optimistic.

Chuck Baldwin, Alan Keyes, et al In the continuing discussion on the presidential election fast approaching, Kevin Swanson interviews Gary Demar from American Vision on the prudence of voting for a third party. Gary Demar gives his reasons for his support of John McCain for president of the US. Would we have had less socialism under a President John Kerry than we have seen under a Republican Bush administration? Would we have had fewer RU-486 abortions and surgical abortions under a President John Kerry than what we have seen under a Republican administration? Did a vote for George W. accomplish anything? What about McCain? Food for thought in this discussion on Christian involvement in politics.

The Third-Party Angle Growing dissatisfaction from conservatives and Christians towards the increasingly moderate or socialist positions of the Republican candidates is giving rise to more support for third party candidates. Kevin Swanson interviews "recovering Republican" John Lofton from the American View on why he would not want to waste a vote on John McCain in the upcoming election.

Lighting a Fire in the Box Office A movie with explicit Christian themes, a terrific gospel message, and decent production value hits it big in the box office. Kevin Swanson and Dave Buehner review the latest Kendrick brother production in this segment of Generations.

True or False? The state that launched an abortion holocaust in this nation is now the state that has the opportunity to reverse all that. The entire country watches Colorado as it decides on Amendment 48, the Personhood Amendment. Kevin Swanson interviews Kristi Burton, the 21-year-old home school graduate who has led the charge for this important legal battle.

Evil People are Usually Nice Guys The Wall Street Journal reports on a meeting conducted last Monday at the Treasury Department, in which the federal government confiscates ownership of the banking industry. This spawns a discussion on evil, what it looks like and what it doesn't look like. How would you know if something evil was actually happening right in front of you? But as parents, how should we present evil to your children? Kevin Swanson discusses the nature of evil, the horror genre, fairy tales, and how to train your children in a true metaphysic (view of reality) and ethics.

Why You Shouldn't Kill Your Kids The cost of aborting 50 million babies plus all the kids killed by abortifacients since 1970 has topped $70 trillion, which ironically amounts to the unfunded social security liabilities facing the baby boomers. That's a lot of innocent blood. The cost of abortion may run as high as euthanasia for those that did all that aborting. But there are more important reasons for keeping your kids, than economic reasons. Kevin Swanson touches on these on this segment of Generations.

What the Nation Deserves The leading candidate for president of the United States is a committed Marxist, favoring redistribution of the wealth, the most pro-infanticide candidate ever to run for president. What does this say about the climate of our country? Would God bring a Jeroboam to power, a man committed to oppose His law that will further destroy the freedoms of a nation? Happens all the time. Listen to this important message bringing together the notion of God's sovereignty, our responsibility, and the future of our nation.

Abridging Freedoms Governments all over the world are flying in to save the day - buying banks, loans, real estate, you name it. Call them assets. Call them the means of production. Call them what you will. Now they're talking about guaranteeing all bank deposits. But how can governments guarantee all bank deposits if all the banks were to go under? Easy. Debauch the currency a little more, and you would have to bring a wheelbarrow to collect your money. Of course, you will get every dime of what you deposited. . . Except the dime is now worth what a penny was six months ago. Kevin Swanson interviews Doug Tjaden, author of "Traditions of Men," on the current crisis and the inevitable loss of freedom (and prosperity) that attends crises like these.

Terror and Slaughter For several generations, Americans refused to acknowledge the warnings sounded by prophets of the day against the debauched money system, the thievery, the redistribution of the wealth, the greed, and the massive debt. Well, the gods of the copybook headings with terror and slaughter return. The present Wall Street collapse is now affecting almost every other nation in the world. We are also learning that the debtor is servant to the lender, as China holds 1.4 trillion dollars of our mortgage debt may be calling the shots. The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 offers policing authority to the Chinese. Will we see Chinese policing evictions on American soil? Kevin Swanson identifies the real problem in this critical broadcast. We are the problem. We have given way to excessive greed and debt ourselves. We have followed the examples of our leaders. We have taken excessive risks with our neighbor's money. And it is us who need to repent.

Government School Funding When you are up against a 600 billion dollar monopoly, that is the greatest purveyor of an evolutionary, naturalist, materialist worldview, (as well as big government socialism and homosexuality), what do you do? One thing you would not want t do – increase its funding. While we would grant there are some exceptional Christian teachers in the system, not many of them can buck a system that by Supreme Court mandate cannot teach that the beginning of wisdom and knowledge is the fear of God. In one of the worst economic times ever, the government-funded education programs are pressing for tax increases across the country. Kevin Swanson recommends a no-vote.
