U.S. Reckless Foreign Policy Part 7

March 3, 2011
Thomas Jefferson’s wrote:  "The true theory of our Constitution is surely the wisest and best, that the States are independent as to everything within themselves, and united as to everything respecting foreign affairs. Let the General Government be reduced to foreign concerns only, and let our affairs be disentangled from those of all other nations, except as to commerce, which the merchants will manage the better, the more they are left free to manage for themselves, and our General Government may be reduced to a very simple organization, and a very inexpensive one; a few plain duties to be performed by a few servants."  This is the correct perspective in a country's foreign relations.

John Adams stated: “We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for any other.” As this principle ought to be observed within our nation, these principles ought also to be observed in the dealing among nations.

George Washington said something that is Scriptural when he said: “The great rule of conduct for us, in regard to foreign nations, is in extending our commercial relations to have as little political connection as possible... Why, by interweaving our destiny with that of any part of Europe, entangle our peace and prosperity in the toils of European ambition, rivalships, interest, humor, or caprice?.. It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of the foreign world.”  Clearly the United States of America has not observed this indication and now the world expects us to look out for their interests and to defend them from their enemies including their own tyrannical governments.

Matthew 7:12 records the Golden Rule, "So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets."  Equally important to the dealings among nations is this rule.  The Founding Fathers of America understood this and respected it.  Has the United States continued to observe this rule in its foreign policy?  Absolutely not!  The recent Wikileaks scandal proves how far this country has drifted from implementing the wisdom that the founders had and the good fruit that it produced.  Is this the same America we knew?

George Mason, the Father of the Bill of Rights warned, ''As nations cannot be rewarded or punished in the next world, so they must be in this. By an inevitable chain of causes and effects, Providence punishes national sins by national calamities.''  Psalms 33:12 teaches us, "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord." What does it mean to have our God as the Lord?

Most Americans have the wrong impression and understanding on how the U.S.’ role in the world should be. Anyone who thinks America should be policing the world, promoting their brand of misguided democracy to other nations; controlling policy in other countries to comply with America’s interests does not know how true ethical and moral international policy should be applied.

Where are God's answers for all the turmoil that is happening around the world today?  Does He have anything to say to this generation?  What are His instructions for His people to follow?  Is Jesus a loser?  Are God's people destined to be defeated?  Are the powers of darkness going to prevail over us?

How does a nation like the United States lose its right position before God to the degree of losing out on God's approval? The History of this nation has been rewritten but that still does not change the fact that Bible believing people birthed this country; no other philosophy or ideology is going to get us back on track with God's design for us as a people to carry out our mission.

"If we ever forget that we are a nation under God, we will be a nation gone under." --Ronald Reagan. Has America forgotten how to be a nation under God?

It has become popular to say that a public service candidate's private life and beliefs do not matter and should be kept personal. But history and the Bible have always shown that character does matter. So when we see corruption in government and in society it is because ignorance and rebellion to God's established order has set in and therefore cannot have the blessings desired. God's protection will not be in effect with such a people.

We cannot honestly say that the U.S. is self sufficient any longer. We depend too much on foreign nations to survive and be provided for. Summed up to that is all the filth, corruption and shedding of innocent blood in the mother's womb through abortion; our sins are many. Needless to say, God is not pleased with us and we are no longer enjoying the measure of His protection like we once did. We saw this very thing happen to Israel of old time and time again. What can we learn from their experience to save our beloved nation from total collapse?

About The Future of America

We want to help restore America's original foundation in biblical Christian principles which made it the most powerful and prosperous nation in the world in a relatively short time but America has not reached it full potential. Ideas have consequences and they are passed on from generation to generation. To eradicate error, the moral and ethical principles of the Bible must be firmly established in the hearts and minds of each individual. If America is going to survive, its citizens must become re-acquainted with its history, heritage and biblical immovable principles and apply them once again to all areas of life. We hope this program will inspire and challenge you so together we can fulfill our responsibility before God and country to make the difference for our generation many generations to come.
