If a lie is repeated often enough and convincingly enough it becomes some people's truth. Especially if those falsehoods are being said by people in some kind of authority such as pastors or priests, they have greater influence. A synonyms of false is the word "untrue" misrepresentation of the truth and false assumptions; bottom line they are lies. The consequences of falsehoods always are destructive. Jesus said you shall know them by their fruits.
