The Church as Teacher of the Nations Part 2

June 25, 2010
Why do people and nations need to be taught? Don't we naturally have good sense to know how to govern ourselves and our nation? Obviously God doesn't think so and he created us. This is why he took a people and made them into a nation and wrote down all the necessary instructions to make a happy, well-adjusted and prosperous nation. When Israel obeyed God's instructions they prospered but when they went astray they would even end up in slavery. Why don't we get the picture?

Just as Jesus was excited about multiplying Himself so too his followers must be excited at multiplying themselves in those who are being discipled to become sons and daughters of the living God. They all become a living, powerful force conquering evil in the world as they expand the Kingdom of God.

The followers of Jesus Christ have a win-win situation, in this life the righteous are to inherit the Earth and in the next one eternal life. “His soul shall abide in well-being, and his offspring shall inherit the land” (Psalm 25:13).

The first followers of Christ were also the first generation to understand the importance of linking the past, present and future. They were to teach the following generation how the Kingdom of God is ever increasing over time and making its way reaching into new cultures and nations.

Just as Jesus understood and applied the Word of God that gave him authority so it would be with his followers as they understood the written Word of God. All Jesus’ disciples, as a church, looked toward the future with confidence and determination; they must not make the mistakes of past generations of scribes who lost sight of being future oriented.

Every generation has always had a people that God can depend on to do His work. God is looking for the faithful remnant in our generation. Many so called preachers and Bible teachers have contaminated God's Word simply because they have been told and people have corroborated that their seminary titles and degrees qualify them to do so. Nothing could be further from the truth!

God is in control of history but many don't know it. Learning from the past is a must so we don't repeat the mistakes of the past. This has not been happening which is why we have so much chaos and God has been speaking through increased natural disasters in the world, increase in crime, on the verge of economical collapse, corruption at all levels and widespread chaos. It is clear our sin brings calamity upon us. Although, some would deny that statement. What do you say?

Christian America is requiring an in depth reformation. The prophets of old were social reformers whom God sent to Israel to call them back to God's righteous ways. We, as a nation, have drifted so far from our base and we should question, who are our social reformers of today? The answer is very simple, we all are!

Reality reveals that no man is an island. We do not live only unto ourselves. We all borrow ideas, inspirations and creativity from the discovery of others. We are all interlinked and we are our brother's keeper. However, there are only two sources of knowledge and inspiration, God's and man's or Satan's. Which source are you using? To many the answer is not so cut and dry.

Whoever we follow and whatever values we embrace is how we will live. The principles that govern every area of our lives will determine our failure or our true success. People who don't follow God's precepts may for a season look very successful and seem like they have it all. But if we look long and hard we will begin to see their lives crumble before our very eyes. Even if they are wealthy materially speaking true happiness, enduring purpose and fulfillment will elude them. Who are you following?

About The Future of America

We want to help restore America's original foundation in biblical Christian principles which made it the most powerful and prosperous nation in the world in a relatively short time but America has not reached it full potential. Ideas have consequences and they are passed on from generation to generation. To eradicate error, the moral and ethical principles of the Bible must be firmly established in the hearts and minds of each individual. If America is going to survive, its citizens must become re-acquainted with its history, heritage and biblical immovable principles and apply them once again to all areas of life. We hope this program will inspire and challenge you so together we can fulfill our responsibility before God and country to make the difference for our generation many generations to come.
