How Do You Know You Are In The Right Church? Part 1

August 23, 2010
The most important fact that any Christian needs to know in finding out if he or she is in the right church is the foundation. The question to answer is, is the congregation built upon the foundation of Jesus Christ? The church is not to be established only in certain set of doctrines, a personality, any particular outreach, or particular distinctiveness that exalt certain programs with the idea of being politically correct. A church is made up of people who are sincere but that doesn't make the church to be founded on Christ.

Jesus' command is that as his disciples, we are committed to discipling other believers once they recognize the importance of the need for continual growth not only in their personal lives but in the lives of others. The goal is for us all to develop godly character, abilities and talents that can be of great influence in our development outside of the local community of believers and the home. In other words, we must develop into leaders after God’s own heart and teach others!

It is impossible to effectively understand the purpose for the world and life apart from its designer, Creator and sustainer. The only true and reliable source of knowledge comes directly from God and His revealed Word; if we depart just a tiny bit from that knowledge, the consequences are severe.

"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:18-20). These are our marching orders from the resurrected Christ. How do you disciple a nation?

History reveals that a weak church leaves the door wide open for those who hate God to be the ones in control as they develop their kind of prosperity which always ends up in great financial catastrophe. It floods society with unspeakable immorality, full of violence and crime, famine, wars and devastation. History also reveals that when the Church obeys her Head (Jesus Christ) it reverses corruption and its effects and opens the gates of hope.

Jesus, the head of the church, was victorious over the forces of Satan to assure that His people continue with that victory. When Paul joined the cause of Christ he was not joining a defeated church but a victorious one. Nowadays, the way most of the Church has been teaching is an invitation for defeat; they seem to only be waiting for Christ to come back and judge the world. Who wants to join a losing cause? And yet many Christians remain in defeat even though the Bible never teaches that the Church is a loser. Amazing, this is the legacy that the church has been handing out generation after generation for far too long.

It is vital for every believer to understand that Jesus is the only head of the Church and we are only accountable to Him. This means that no one in the congregation is above any other. Those who hold special responsibilities within the congregation are not entitled to lord it over the rest. For far too long God's absolute authority has been usurped within church bodies. It's time to restore Jesus' rightful place among God's people.

Christ is not only the foundation and Bridegroom of the Church but He is also Head of the Church. This is a fundamental truth continually overlooked by believers from past and present generations. From the very beginning, men have usurped the headship of the Church whether intentional or not, however, the damage in people’s lives, as well as nations, is self evident.

What is a worldview? A worldview is a person’s set of beliefs that will determine how he or she is going to act. Every individual has a worldview because everyone has thoughts; every day he makes decisions and takes action. Every person makes an assumption of how life began, and what is the purpose for life. Time and history are on the side of those who follow God's plan. In times of great moral, political, economical, emotional, religious and ecological deterioration and confusion, it is an opportunity for God's truth to confront the falsehood about the true meaning and purpose of life.

How do you conceive heaven? How do you envision the social order in heaven? Since everything flows from God there is perfect unity and harmony. The conflict of worldviews only takes place here on earth. Cain want to worship God on his own terms and God rejected his offering. How could a loving God reject an offering that came from the hard work and sweat invested by Cain? Was it less valuable than the animal sacrifice offered by Abel? God has his high standards very well placed and He will not alter them for anything or anyone. Our heavenly Father truly knows best.

Surveys say that only 1% of adults have a biblical worldview. Is it any wonder that we are losing the young people to the humanist/atheist mindset. The church is supposed to be the facilitator and equip the families with the proper tools of learning God's perspective in all areas of life. Our children are exposed to hours every day to an aggressive bombardment of humanist ideas. They are easy prey to be devoured voraciously by the enemy of God.

About The Future of America

We want to help restore America's original foundation in biblical Christian principles which made it the most powerful and prosperous nation in the world in a relatively short time but America has not reached it full potential. Ideas have consequences and they are passed on from generation to generation. To eradicate error, the moral and ethical principles of the Bible must be firmly established in the hearts and minds of each individual. If America is going to survive, its citizens must become re-acquainted with its history, heritage and biblical immovable principles and apply them once again to all areas of life. We hope this program will inspire and challenge you so together we can fulfill our responsibility before God and country to make the difference for our generation many generations to come.
