Kevin rose to fame as Hercules, on the hit TV series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. He played the muscle-bound demigod in the hit TV series for 7 seasons. Airing in 176 countries, it became the most-watched TV show in the world. While filming, Kevin suffered an undiagnosed aneurysm in his shoulder that led to a series of debilitating strokes. He could barely walk and was left partially blind, profoundly affecting both his health and his career.

Kevin’s illness made him rethink his life in ways he never expected, including rededicating his life to the Lord. After an arduous recovery that took years, he eventually regained his health and resumed his active lifestyle; now, however, Kevin guides his acting career to include faith-based projects. His role as an atheistic philosophy professor challenged by one of his students in the widely successful film God’s Not Dead brought Kevin critical acclaim. His inspiring story is chronicled in his book True Strength: My Journey from Hercules to Mere Mortal—and How Nearly Dying Saved My Life.

A devoted husband and father, Kevin spends much of his time leading “A World Fit for Kids,” a mentoring model that trains teens to use school, fitness, and sports to become positive role models and coaches for younger children. As the national spokesperson (successor to Arnold Schwarzenegger) for the non-profit organization “Afterschool Alliance,” Kevin works diligently to ensure that children have access to safe, enriching afterschool programs.
