During His brief years of ministry, Jesus was constantly surrounded by pseudo-disciples who followed Him for their own gain. But when they discovered that Jesus had certain expectations of them as well—like whole-hearted surrender, forsaking family and possessions, and being persecuted for righteousness sake—they bailed on Him. In today’s message, Pastor Stephen Davey’s thoughts will cause us to evaluate our own expectations of Christ and then evaluate how well we are living up to His expectations of us.
