An Infatuation with Vampirism
When it comes to vampires and the horror genre, there is a thin line between fear and admiration. For that matter, the line between Christianity and paganism is even thinner these days.
Is the Stephanie Meyer creation just another harmless story about some teen girl who falls in love with a suave young vampire adolescent vampire? Or is this what it looks like when a society backs itself into the worse forms of paganism while still trying to retain a thin façade of humanistic morality complete with the classy cover? Hard to do when you have all that human blood dripping down your cheeks, Steph!
Slowly the masses are embracing what used to be counted the ultimate evil. Who would want to marry a vampire in 1952? Now 25 million 15 year old girls are liking the idea.
