What If Jesus Never Came

December 25, 2008
For God so Loved the World...
What would this world look like, if Jesus had never come and His message had never transformed the lives of millions around the globe?

Host, Kevin Swanson looks at the worst hell holes on earth and the religions/worldviews that dominate in those places, finding practically no trace of the Christian faith whatsoever. Then, he turns to the most stable, most prosperous, and most free nations on earth, and finds some remnants of the Christian faith. He reviews economies, political liberties, private charitable initiative, the treatment of the infirm, etc., and concludes the power of ideas and love of Christ is truly remarkable, as it transforms lives and cultures.

This is a program you do not want to miss!

De-funding Socialist Education Faced with the ever-expanding, inevitable growth of socialism in Western "democracies," since the birth of the public school movement in America, those who still kinda liked freedom have all but given up hope. Yet there may be a faint glimmer of hope in a new political stratagem inspired by one, Paul Dorr from Iowa. He's going for the belly of the socialist beast, and he's making some appreciable progress at it. For six years now, he's taken the lead opposing School Bond Elections all over the country, and he's winning.

A Crying Need So many young women in our society are gauche, rude, unwise, ostentatious, undignified, careless in speech - ruining relationships as they go. They have no idea how to love a husband, love and raise a child, manage a home, and do about 98% of life, even after graduating from college. The Bible has a perfect solution for this. It's the walk-along, talk-along, discipleship of an older woman with a younger woman. Unfortunately, it's very rare to see this kind of relational, organic discipleship happening much. What is pictured here is not some 35 year old pastor's wife, recently graduated from seminary, trying to download some material from a book written by a single woman on "The Feminine Mystique" for a class of 20.

Blago and Madoff With corruption proliferating in our economic and political systems, the Wall Street Journal opines that capitalism cannot survive without character. Kevin Swanson agrees and points out that the failure of character is a failure in the basic philosophy of how to educate a child in K-12 and university settings. This spawns a discussion on the many sins that plague young men and how the lessons of character are the hardest and yet most important of all.

Adams and Jefferson The study of history can be hampered either by peering through rose-colored glasses or by a total disdain for the past and the good that is there. Through the lens of a biblical worldview, Kevin Swanson analyzes the writings of John Adams and Thomas Jefferson in a review of McCullough's work on Adams. In what was to become one of the most unique opportunities in the history of the world, Christian men (with four generations of heritage in solid reformation teaching), were able to put a nation together! Great Fun! The blessings of this great experiment are clearly undeniable. But nobody's perfect, and Kevin Swanson points out the seeds planted that eventually destroyed the nation.

An Infatuation with Vampirism When it comes to vampires and the horror genre, there is a thin line between fear and admiration. For that matter, the line between Christianity and paganism is even thinner these days. Is the Stephanie Meyer creation just another harmless story about some teen girl who falls in love with a suave young vampire adolescent vampire? Or is this what it looks like when a society backs itself into the worse forms of paganism while still trying to retain a thin façade of humanistic morality complete with the classy cover? Hard to do when you have all that human blood dripping down your cheeks, Steph! Slowly the masses are embracing what used to be counted the ultimate evil. Who would want to marry a vampire in 1952? Now 25 million 15 year old girls are liking the idea.
