Destroying False Foundations

References: Romans 2

Construction remodeling projects often require demolition of existing structures. God is the master builder and he has some "demo" work to do in our lives. The old foundation must be destroyed to make room for a new foundation. God, the Creator, knows what he is doing. His plans have been written for all to see. The grand plan is written in the book of Romans.

The first three chapters of the book of Romans reveal God's plan to "demo" the foundation of every believer. The first thing to go is our own righteousness -- commonly known as self-righteousness. This is a most painful procedure, but one that must be accomplished if God is to build HIS life into us. Discipline is required to work our way through these chapters. The temptation is to want the easy way out. The only requirement is that we bow our knee and submit to God's plan. Once the demo work is complete, there is no way to go but up.
