Psalm 116:1-19 I love the LORD, because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy...
What are some of the reasons the psalmist gives for loving God? What does he praise about the character of God? What do we give back to the Lord for all He gives us? Why do you love the Lord?
Well it's Thanksgiving Day in the U.S. so I kind of had thanksgiving (the act, not the holiday) on the brain as I read Psalm 116 today. Verse 1 starts beautifully with the Psalmist proclaiming his love for the Lord. Then when we get to verses 16 and 17 we see this "I am your servant" and "I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving."
So a couple of things today. First, would you take a moment, right now, and tell the Lord that you love Him? Then, let's consider what being the Lord's servant and offering to Him our sacrifice of thanksgiving might/should look like? Tami W.
