The Zimmerman Verdict - Biblical Jurisprudence

July 15, 2013
In the wake of the Zimmerman Verdict, we take a look at the case from a biblical perspective. The only possible standard for justice is a biblical, God-derived ethical standard. Thus, the Generations team takes some time to work through the case, removing the emotional, political, and "racial" intonations that work hard to erode justice in our day.

The Lone Ranger major motion picture release is down on the Christian faith and up on paganism. Is the Christian faith turning into a whipping boy on the college campuses, on the part of those who have abandoned rational discussion? Kevin Swanson refers to recent attempts on the part of conservatives and Christians to engage the conversation in the midst of the mob of deconstructed dis-intellects on the college campus.

Rick Perry vs. Laura BushWhat is happening with the Bush family?  Jeb Bush awards Hillary Clinton with a Liberty Medal, Laura Bush endorses same-sex marriage, and George W. Bush is soft-pedaling.  The good news is that Rick Perry is fighting for life in Texas.  Kevin Swanson also notes that worldviews matter when it comes to adoption.  When the state departments have a messed-up worldview, Christian adoptions are hampered and children's lives are destroyed.

Youth joblessness is twice as bad as it was just 10 years ago! High school graduates are facing 80% unemployment or under-employment. The way of Colorado is the way of the nation; our "liberals" have been given a blank check to destroy parental rights, gun rights, etc., and pave the way for as much adultery, homosexuality, and abortion as possible. The U.S. Justice Department insists that "tolerance" trumps freedom, and Christians will have to be persecuted in the name of tolerance in the years to come.

The President of the United States serves as a missionary for the Neronic agenda in Africa, but Africa resists. Meantime, street preachers are arrested for preaching the Gospel in England and the rest of the Western world braces for persecution. Kevin Swanson suggests that nobody is going to make it to heaven on flowery beds of ease, while others fought to win the prize and sailed through bloody seas.

The standard atheist, liberal, pro-homosexual cavil leveled again and again, ad nauseum since Mark Twain popularized the little apologetic is - "The Bible is pro-slavery," so what does this "stupid" biblical god have to say about ethics? Kevin Swanson and Dave Buehner put this one to bed once and for all on this edition of the program. Turns out, God knows what He's talking about and the liberal progressives always create more slavery, more broken families, more misery by their ill-fated "solutions."

On the Heritage Foundation's Worldwide Freedom Index, America has been slipping year by year for eight years now. On this Independence Day, Kevin Swanson checks off the Bill of Rights and finds that we're still holding strong on the Third Amendment! But that's about it.

Every family grapples with making decisions that will either strengthen or weaken the family, or that will either put the kingdom of God first or second. Joshua Miller made such a decision when he opted to quit the Air Force Academy and help his father build the family economy. This interview will offer a great deal of food for thought for every young man who is faced with his own decisions to make.

Kevin Swanson reviews the latest summer blockbuster with his daughter Emily. The much-touted, "Christian" themed movie is drawing rave reviews from Christians everywhere. However, carefully-constructed stories always operate on multiple levels. In the cultural war raging around us, The naive are easily taken by a simplistic review of films that counts cuss words and finds redemptive themes and Christ-metaphors everywhere. Two worldviews appear side by side in the new Superman flick, and the old Christian God disappears in favor of new gods. Also, Kevin Swanson interviews Michael Moody on homeschooling in Texas and the FORGE conference coming in September.

The Anglicans are resituating their church towards paganism in more efforts to synthesize with the popular religions of the day. Kevin Swanson also takes a look at a pastor's blog that includes a picture of a nude man at the head of it, and we are told that Christ would not have us emulate the Good Samaritan. Is Jesus expositing the law of God, or is He expositing grace in the parable of the Good Samaritan? Or perhaps we should be careful about pitting law against grace.
