The Paranormal Seduction of our Children

Harry Potter, Role Playing Games, and Witchcraft
It looks like Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince emerges as the top grossing film this summer. But what does the Bible say about stuff like witchcraft, necromancy, drinking blood, and the like? Might I suggest you look up "witch," "spells," "speaking to the dead," and "drinking blood" in your handy computer concordance. But what about those who insist there can be good witches, good rapists, and good necromancers?
Kevin Swanson interviews Marcia Montenegro, the author of a recent book release, "Spellbound, The Paranormal Seduction of Today’s Kids." As one who was deeply involved in the occult through the 1980s with first hand experience in spirit guides, astrology, the "higher Self," developing psychic abilities, praying to gurus, astral travel, numerology, Tarot cards, contacting the dead, etc. etc., Marcia issues a timely warning for families.

Mandatory Family Visitation Programs from Your Friendly Neighborhood Bureaucrat Death Counsels, healthcare rationing, mandatory home visitation programs, and socialized medicine are proposed solutions to the problems facing American healthcare. A number of things are coming to a head right now in our society - the abortion generation is growing up. The socialist mentality that seeks security from government has only grown in the populace. Couple that with the decline in the health of a nation, the rise in obesity, the increase in health care costs and tort costs, and the failure of an economy - and it seems that this may be our only solution. Is Obama over-reaching with the socialist agenda?

Hope for our Time Adolf Hitler's Nazi party has just taken the reins of power in Germany! The Nightmare of Marx and Stalin is just beginning. Good morning! It's St. Bartholomew’s Day in the year 1572 in France. The most pro-infanticide, professedly pro-Marxist candidate ever to run for President of the United States was just elected. Now what? History has its share of tragedy and terror. But is this inevitable? In this exciting and hopeful exchange, Marshall Foster reviews 2000 years of Christian triumphs and the victories that always rise out of the ashes of human sin and tragedy. You will be inspired by this interview!

A Deadly Catch 22 Are we asking too much to insist that our young people wait for sex till marriage, and then wait for marriage until they are 29 years old? Kevin Swanson addresses the catch-22 world our young men face when they are not grown up by 30 years of age, less spiritually mature than young women, subjected to a sexed up, sexed out world 7 24's, and can't have intimate relations outside of marriage. What gives? A cover article from Christianity Today encourages earlier marriage, but how is that going to happen in boytopia where high school and college have little to do with moving a young man into spiritual and economic maturity?

Homeschooling vs. Charter Schools A new study on the academic performance of homeschooled youth is released - and homeschoolers are doing even better than they were ten years ago (in comparison with national averages). Averages hover around the mid to high 80 percentiles. Kevin Swanson compares the 2009 study results with the last major study on homeschool academic performance from 10 years earlier. We also take a look at a major Charter School study conducted by Stanford's CREDO research organization, and the results are much less encouraging. Most Charter Schools are having a hard time getting off the 50 percentile mark. So why do homeschooling parents without teaching certificates and $10,000 per student funding yield results far better than the national average? In a day when academic score are lagging and the character of a nation is collapsing, homeschoolers are excelling and there numbers are proliferating.

Extrapolating the Trends "My son will be 18 years old in August, and he will celebrate his 38th birthday in the year 2029." Visionary men must understand the times and prepare for what lies ahead. They frame the antithesis, study trends, and prepare their sons with biblical character, biblical principles, and a biblical agenda sufficient to address the challenges that lie ahead. Profound changes have already come about since the 1960s. The character of the nation has fallen. The culture has moved from Nat King Cole's Lazy Hazy Crazy Days of Summer to Katy Perry's Be a Lesbian and Eminem's Rape Rap. The debt-ridden economy continues to careen into oblivion. The Aborted 70's and 80's Generation is looking forward to euthanizing the baby boomers who aborted them. So how do I prepare my son for the year 2029? . . . an important question for parents who still care.

Are Christians Different from Pagans? Very little distinguishes Christians from pagans in the present day, but that's because Christians hardly know their own faith. Kevin Swanson traces the perspective on abortion upheld for hundreds of years amongst the church fathers, and points out that Christians have always considered abortion a sin. Those Christians not affected by Greek thought would insist that abortion is homicide. If there was one thing that would characterize a Christian in the ortho-praxic sense, it would have been a respect for human life. Perhaps it's time for those who think of themselves as Christians to reconsider what it is to have a relationship with God. For one thing, you don't run around killing His kids.

A Tyranny Update The Roman powers did not have satellites tracking every move you made. They didn't have cameras on street corners, and they didn't have computer databases with thousands of data records on your life, your friends, and your affiliations. And they didn't consume 60% of the Gross National Income. It was more like 6%. But why do we prefer tyranny as a people? They would rather open their lives up to complete strangers, than be morally and spiritually accountable to people who actually love them! Kevin Swanson boils it down to a question of tyranny or accountable relationships. Either you will be governed by God's social order or Marx and Plato's, and you will subject yourself to a miserable tyranny. We actually prefer relational living - shepherd centers, family discipleship, and long term accountable relationships.

How Do Your Children Look at History? History is dangerous. History is complex. History is messy. But for Christians it is anything but sound and fury, signifying nothing! History is really and truly, "His Story," as God is sovereign, yet holds men responsible for how they conduct themselves in the battle that rages between good and evil. Dr. Phil Kayser, pastor and historian, joins us to discuss an exciting view of providential history and how we fit into it. Focusing on Reformation History, Pope Clement, Henry VIII, and Anne Bolyn, Phil shows how God’s hand works and accomplishes His purposes even through some of the most desperate and evil of times. You will be greatly encouraged by this interview!

. . . Before it destroys us? In one of the most important programs we have released to date, Kevin Swanson contrasts a humanist view of science with a biblical view. Scientism is what drives the humanist academy, society, and state; and it is fundamentally flawed. In this discussion, Kevin presents seven reasons why scientists should humble themselves before God NOW before they destroy themselves and their societies. This program is especially important for engineers, scientists, and parents who are teaching their children science.

Do Most People Go to Hell? Kevin Swanson grapples with why the Christian faith he grew up with in the 1970s was so squishy, and why so many of those "Christian" kids wound up divorced, and then their kids. . . Well, we don't even want to talk about them. So what makes a robust faith that will sustain the generations? In the middle of a tidal wave of apostasy sweeping over the western world, it’s about time to reexamine our basic worldview commitments. Do you really have a God-centered epistemology, metaphysics, and ethics, and is that what you are conveying to your children? Or is it warmed-over, watered-down humanism? Kevin recommends three things for putting a little rebar in the faith - a solid, solid doctrinal foundation, an intensely relational, family discipleship, and solid, serious preaching from the Word.
