You missed the Elton John homosexual Pepsi advertisement, sex for sale everywhere, Budweiser chronicles the decline of the culture into grunge, Clint Eastwood's plea to salvage western civilization and Detroit, and a temporary, nostalgic return to the paganism of Greece and Rome. Rick Santorum dominates in the Colorado caucuses, and takes Minnesota and Missouri to boot. Is there a rising pro-life sentiment among Republicans? There may be a little push back coming against the Obama administration's mandate that religious organization provide coverage for birth control, sterilization, and the day-after pill. Faced with the dominant economic theories of Marxism and Free Market Capitalism, the average, modern father has a hard time pulling his family back into a biblically-based economy. Family solidarity has disintegrated a great deal since the 19th century. Debt-based capitalism and communism have set the world up for the economic depression. How do we get back to a biblical socio-economic system? Jon and Candy Summers have been on a 30 year journey to restore the biblical family economy in the modern world. A powerful story!

If a man does not provide for his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever (according to the Apostle Paul). In order for our sons NOT to fall into this category, how might we train them in faith and responsibility? This is the question Kevin Swanson poses to Steve Maxwell, author of a helpful little book entitled Preparing Sons to Provide for a Single-Income Household. How do you train your sons’ appetites? What about entertainment in the home? When do you start instilling diligence and a love for work in a little boy? This is a critical interview for anybody raising boys!

Muslim parents in Canada allegedly attempt a solution for teenage rebellion, convicted in court of killing their daughters. Vigilante honor killings. There is no question that Christians and Muslims both will face the problem of teenage rebellion in the modern family-fragmented, humanist culture. But hopefully, they will respond to the problem differently.

Should we use the Bible as an ethical authority or just throw the whole thing out? With the huge comeback of paganism and pagan rites in the western world (70% of college kids are decked out in tattoos), families are looking for objective ethical standards from God’s Word. Kevin Swanson carefully explains how the Apostles used the law of God, addressing some of the finer distinctions in this worldview consideration of biblical ethics.

Recent studies indicate that moral integrity is slipping badly in the western world. The family is in terrible shape. Psychologists are concerned about the ever-extending period of adolescence among young men. Nations are swimming in debt. But here’s the good news: technology will save us! There might be some high-tech breakthroughs on the horizon that might help us get a few more electronic gadgets, but will technology save us? Kevin Swanson contrasts the vast changes that have occurred in technology with the socio-economic changes that are straining the western world. Then he discusses an article from the Wall Street Journal on ever-extending adolescence and what to do about it. The article recommends a reconsideration of apprenticeship and home economies!

Starr Meade has assembled a beautiful family study guide on the Westminster Shorter Catechism. It is important to root and ground your children in solid truth. Otherwise, they will be blown about by every wind of doctrine; there are thousands of crosswinds blowing all the time, especially in today’s world. People randomly pick their crosswinds all the time, but here is historical, biblical truth for the ages.

Mitt Romney is up in front for the Republican nomination for president of the United States. Is Romney more committed to Socialism than to the Mormon worldview? Is America ready for the first Mormon president? Kevin Swanson interacts with a New York Times article on Mormonism. If America still holds to a basically Christian view of God and man, does Mormonism take a hard turn away from this? Does Mormonism teach a sharply different view of the nature of God, social structures, and redemption? These are important questions to answer before electing a Mormon to lead the nation.

Another outrageous bill in the Mississippi legislature threatens parents with a life sentence for spanking their children! A failure to understand the basic biblical ethical standards such as the ancient lex talionis, is devastating to the cause of liberty. Kevin Swanson explains the importance of biblical law as it applies to such things as taxation (for President Obama if he's tuning into us), kidnapping (for social services agents), and spanking (for the rest of us).
