Supreme Court Persecutes Kim Davis - Will Amy C. Barrett Save Us?

October 8, 2020

The US Supreme Court is not doing Christians any favors when it comes to religious persecution.  Will pastors be next in line for rejecting the party line on homosexual “mirage?” Kudos for President Trump on his nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to the high court, but what does this mean for the nation? We discuss Deborah from the Book of Judges, and the role of women in family, church, and state.

The Christian faith is losing ground in the west, with each successive generation flaking out at greater frequencies. The church appears powerless to stop the bleeding. In this interview with Ken Ham from Answers in Genesis, we attempt to identify some of the connections between the breakdown of the family and the breakdown of faith in the west.

Global Warming. 9/11 and Terrorism. Covid 19. There are just so many pretenses for the development of the regulative state and the police state. Does wearing a mask invite more police state restrictions upon the nation?  If liberty is still a value, where do you push back, and what is the best way to do it?  Do you address the problem with Walmart, or would it be more prudent to address your concerns with the courts, the legislatures, and the executive arm of government?

Wow. Wow. Wow. The new documentary “The Social Dilemma” is rocking the world. Why the dystopian negativity from this new documentary film on social media and its destructive effects? Is this really unravelling all of human society? Is this creating an excessively high level of social chaos, polarization, and anarchy? What are the more fundamental issues we need to be considering here? Kevin Swanson presents a careful Christian response to the deconstruction of society and human relationship in the modern world.

Only 2% of American millennials subscribe to the very basic elements of a Christian worldview, yet 61% still claim to be Christians. Does this mean that 97% of American professing Christians actually subscribe to a different religion — the religion of humanism? Is it time for a new church council so as to discern the difference between the false religion and the true faith within evangelicalism today? We provide a suggestion for initial language for a new ecumenical statement for the 21st century church, to follow up on the Councils of Nicea and Chalcedon.

The modern church and the whole world is pretty strong on age-segregated programs, but what does the Bible recommend in the pastoral epistles? Has human traditions displaced the laws of God, when it comes to family and church life? What if children were not discipled by secular education, and families took their Ephesians 6:4 responsibilities seriously? Here is a modest proposal for the abandonment of youth ministry, and invitation for the Holy Spirit — that the hearts of the fathers turn to the children, and the hearts of children turn back to the fathers.

The last reformation was in the West. Will the next reformation be worldwide in scope? This program includes a big vision, but at the end of the day the discipleship of any nation begins at home with Dad.

The Enemy Awards or rather Emmy Awards 2020 came and went, offering top prizes for television programs which glorified orgies, drugs, rape, etc. etc.  We’ve come a long ways from “Father Knows Best” and “Huckleberry Hound” — winning top awards in 1960.  What does it look like when the world passes away with its lusts thereof?  The hardly ever watched Emmy awards would be an excellent example of the pattern.  But as a Christian does not love the world, what does he love?  What is the good love to replace the rotting lust of the world, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life?

The Social Security fund was supposed to deplete in 2045, then 2035, then 2032, and now 2031.  Some Americans have the opportunity to exempt themselves from social security, but would they do it if they had the chance? Less than 20% of pastors (in one survey) have opted out of social security. Will churches prepare to reassume responsibilities they have abdicated to the state?

Are the American Country Music awards bringing a tremendous Christian reformation to America?  Carrie Underwood gives “all glory to God,” and Rhett acknowledges “my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”  However, don't forget this is the genre where the guy “gets laid and saved” in the same song, and Carrie Underwood continues her “Love Wins” tour, hammering on people who love the real Jesus and keep His commandments. The bifurcation of faith and life, or Sunday and Monday, creates a syncretism not unlike what Jeroboam introduced when he made nice little cow idols for Jehovah worship.

This is a time of great testing for Republicans, for President Trump, and for pastors like Tim Keller. The divisions are occurring across the nation, but will the divisions be set according to God’s Law — God’s definition of right and wrong, or arbitrary definitions and emphases? The next appointment of a US Supreme Court Justice is a major test for the President. Will this be another Justice Thomas, or another Justice Gorsuch or Sandra Day O’Connor?
