Fifty Years of Biblical Counseling - Interview: Dr. Jay Adams

January 15, 2013
After 100 years of Freud and Skinner, there isn't much of humanist psychology except for a crowd of expensive pill-dispensers. In the 1960s, one man sparked a reformation of Biblical counseling that continues in many shapes and forms to this day. This man was Dr. Jay Adams. Here Kevin Swanson interviews Dr. Adams on the current state of Christian counseling, the common mistakes made by Christian counselors, the effectiveness of solid Biblical counseling, and the breakdown of modern evangelicalism by the sharp separation between justification and sanctification…usually ignoring sanctification altogether in the process.

As of June of 2012, there are 24 women serving on Navy Submarines. Plato envisioned women and men both working out nude in the gymnasiums in his humanist vision 2400 years ago. He would be proud. Between 1900 and the present, women have participated in the Olympics at an increasingly higher percentage, and most of them will never have children. Kevin Swanson doesn't give you all the answers, but boy, he has some great questions every parent should consider on this edition of Generations.

The seminary of Jesus involved dusty sandals, a few walking sticks, and a lot of personal interaction. Sadly, the disintegration of the church seems to happen when Christians migrate back into the old humanist model of education that separates knowledge from character development, life application, and the worship of God. Kevin Swanson and Marcus Serven discuss the discipleship model of study as a couple of pastors from local churches in Missouri and Colorado.

If you find a verse in the Bible that is problematic, you can ignore it or. . . just re-write it! Homosexuals have found 8 verses they deem problematic to their world and life view. So they found an easy solution - just mark 'em up! Kevin Swanson lists a bunch more problematic verses to humanists (who retain their own ethical and metaphysical perspectives about stuff). We also discuss the relationship of natural law and revealed law in edition of the program.

Kids are raised in single parent homes in 90% of Households in these Washington DC neighborhoods. Meanwhile, Germany is exporting its elderly to foreign countries for cheaper accommodations.
