Did Chick-fil-A Give Way Before the Wicked? - A Defense of the Salvation Army

November 22, 2019

The Salvation Army and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes have been battered badly by the left-wing media. They are at the center of the attack, and Chick-Fil-A has made a public announcement that they will back away from supporting them. Where are the voices defending the Salvation Army and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes? Chick-fil-A insists that they will support Faith-based charities, but why not Gospel-based charities that still hold that homosexuality is a sin, and we all need to be saved from these sins by the grace of Christ? Kevin Swanson draws Adam McManus and Bill Jack into this discussion. “Like a muddied spring or a polluted fountain is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked.”

The breakdown of the father-son relationship is the root of just about every social and spiritual issue relating to the family, church, and state today. Family, faith, and freedom break down when fathers break down. The greatest reformation of our time would be known by a realignment of the hearts of the fathers to the sons, discipleship at the most basic level. Here is an introduction to what that discipleship would look like, from Malachi Man -- Richard Snyder.

America has great foundations, but these foundations are being jack-hammered out from under us. There is a concerted effort to destroy the heritage of a nation and open it up for revolution, tyranny, and ultimate destruction. This is the essence of the Marxist agenda. We go back into the foundations and find two influences that were battling out for the soul of America in the 1770s. How did the French Revolution differ from the American War for Independence? How does a Christian family get to the accurate accounts of the history of the nation?

The household of Stephanas was addicted to the ministry of the saints. Ministry opportunities are abounding both in the local and the international context, but how does your family choose your ministry? How does Macedonia help Jerusalem in times of crisis? When does helping hurt the people you’re trying to help? This program introduces the most essential part of family life.

Here is another exciting story of how the Gospel made it to a far off tribe — the Kaang Chin people in Myanmar. Is Keith Getty, songwriter of “In Christ Alone” on target? He’s concerned with the de-Christianizing of worship music. What happens when it’s the wrong worldview, but really cool worship music? With all the noise, the passion, the programs, and the ra-ra in the churches, how would you know if a revival was happening. Kevin Swanson provides four tests that might help.

How would you respond in the worst crisis ever in two centuries of your country or your community’s existence? God’s church growth plan is kicking in almost everywhere around the world. Christian persecution and genocide is the worse than ever before, per the secular news sources. But, how can we benefit from this church growth plan here in the United States? Is there any way that we can be bound with them?

The state is increasingly wanting to enforce control over adoption, addiction recovery ministries, and homeschooling. Some ministries capitulate and others do not. Will principle win over pragmatism? The devil will always attempt to destroy that which is good — first by regulation, and then by funding and control — the bad cop, good cop game.

The younger generation has far less stamina compared to the general population, by a factor of 300%. A full 75% of Gen Zers have left a job over mental health concerns. The Bible explains the cause: “They did not like to retain God in their thoughts.” The mental instability of the present generation is increasing fast, due at least in part to isolation. We contrast Robinson Crusoe with Tom Hanks in Castaway, on this edition of the program.

Every now and then, God does the impossible. In fact, it happens more often than we could imagine. People can’t seem to believe that God would have saved Nathan Bedford Forrest. Some have a hard time believing that God could have saved Jeffrey Dahmer. What can we say for Kanye West? On the one hand, nobody wants to be the elder son in Jesus’s story who can’t seem to bring himself to dance with the rest of the family on the return of the Prodigal. But mostly, we must never, never depreciate the power of the grace of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
