California Shutting Down Christian School - Paying the Price for Bucking the Borg

June 17, 2019

Shall we celebrate “Lust-Pride Month” on President Donald Trump’s admonition? If pride comes before a fall, that probably wouldn’t be a very good idea. We take a quick look at what some call the “Zero-sum” game for religious freedom with the Trump administration. Why aren’t we making any progress on any of this? Also, a California Christian school is about to be shut down for what appears to be resisting the Borg.

A recent poll found that 55% of American women would rather live in a socialist country, and 43% of American men would rather live in a socialist country. Women vote more liberal (by 24% margin), and more women vote by a 15% margin. We explain why, and then challenge Christians with a strategy — How do we get ready to live in a socialist country?

The power of the “gay borg” on almost every Fortune 500 company is unprecedented in its force and spiritual in its origin. The Gramscians captured the culture and the educational systems. . . but now the corporate interests too. Almost all the major stores, insurance agencies, airlines, health organizations, and computer businesses now have joined the borg. Is all resistance futile? Boycotts won’t do anything substantial. So what will Christians do? Must we fear the borg? We don’t think so.

One way or the other, the Gospel must get out. But how does one do this in a world that is shut up to it? A growing cadre of godly, prudent street preachers are rising up and taking the Gospel to the streets in America, Scotland, England, and elsewhere. Street preaching has never been popular, ever. But, the Word still needs to get out, and these men have the fervor and faith to do it.

The Alabama State Legislature has just voted to do away with the marriage license. Christians are increasingly abandoning the marriage license anyway, and restoring marriage to a rightful jurisdiction of the family. Yet, the church and the state are witnesses. How does this work? How much does a father get involved in the marriage of his daughters? Is there a balance between being overly controlling and failing to provide accountability and good preparation for our daughters and sons?

Several very interesting surveys help us to better understand the changing dynamics of the Millennial Generation. They have 3X the debt, and about half the net worth of the Gen Xers at the same age. Economic, social, and political optimism at record lows for them. But, they are way more interested in picking up a tract or listening to the Gospel than the previous generations. Praise God! The opportunities await us with the Millennial Generation.

We wrap up the most liberal legislative year in Colorado history. But if God is with us, and you take advantage of the island of freedom available to your Christian family in Colorado, it really ain’t that bad! The statists are pushing hard for all-day kindergarten, yet it has been a disaster in the model state—West Virginia! We review the Jean-Jacques Rousseau legacy of statist education—and his commitment to remove the child from the home and put all children under state-funded professionals. We also take a look at the dangers of starting too early, and the maximum liberty that we enjoy as Christians to teach as Jesus did, instead of devolving into a socialist one-size-fits-all approach.

The liberals get everything wrong. They outlaw the declawing of cats, they approve of infanticide, and they ban spanking. Is it save the children or kill them? Are we loving children when we kill them in abortion clinics? Are we loving children when we refuse to correct sin in their lives? We must start with the Bible when it comes to every part of life. Bottom line — We have a sin problem in the home, and discipline is part of striving against sin in the home. Discipline and spanking are essential in the Christian home. We communicate a message — sin is not okay. There is one more message to communicate - Jesus Christ came to save us from our sins! Hallelujah!

There is no more repressive state with a record of killings as extensive as Communist China.  These roots of oppression run deep — 2,500 years deep.  Kevin Swanson interviews Steven Mosher, preeminent expert on China and author of “The Broken Earth” and “Bully of Asia - Why China’s Dream is the New Threat.”  Is the growth of Christianity a threat to the communist party?  Has the repression eased at all since the days of Mao? Steven Mosher explains the nightmarish human rights abuses he has personally witnessed including forced abortions and forced infanticide. As well, Mosher reports on how China harvests organs from prisoners by paralyzing their victim so they can extract their organs while the victim is still alive.

Anxious for marriage, thirty-five year old women are asking the question, “Where are all the good men?”  The problem of delayed marriage is a consequence of a much larger and much more tangled web of social sins and contagions. It’s not wrong to put off marriage, but it’s just plain wrong to put off marriage for the wrong reasons.  There seems to be a concern about maturity and manliness, but what is this?   The Scriptures give us a picture of faith, sobriety, and doing the things God wants a man to do.

Recent revelations of Martin Luther King Jr. from Pulitzer Prize Winner, David Garrow, is sure to cause some stir with the Me Too crowd. The allegations from newly released FBI files include 40 affairs and laughing at friends raping others, etc. This introduces the question — who will our heroes be? Shall we take on every media darling and assume this to be a hero? Those who forsake the law of God praise the wicked, but those who keep the law strive against them. We suggest 27 truly great Christian heroes that are worth honoring in this nation’s history.
