Paris March for the Unrealistic Unity and Coexistence, Part 1

January 13, 2015
Due to the horrific deadly assault on the headquarters of a French satirical magazine where 17 people died, there was a freedom march in Paris, France, the largest gathering in France’s history for freedom of expression. More than 40 world leaders attended to show unity against terrorism. What a paradox! Some of the leaders present at the march have a poor record in terms of freedom of speech and the press in their own countries. What hypocrisy, and what do they hope to accomplish?

The reason the United States of America became such a different nation in the history of the world was the arrival of the children of the Reformation that came to this land with a vision of carrying on with what they were not allowed to do in Europe. That is, until in the mid 19th century another wave of Europeans with the opposite worldview, which was destroying the old continent, came to implement those failing philosophies here in America.  And here we are...

People seek after wealth above all things. The problem for them is their worldview. Doing things Gods’ way is the proper way, including creating and increasing wealth. In John Wesley's Sermon 50 (1743), titled "The Uses of Money." He said: "Gain all you can. Save all you can. Give all you can." This still holds true today. The Bible has the perfect solution to economics.

Rich people need to understand that wealth has a purpose beyond personal goals and only acquiring and accumulating “things.” Wealth should not alter priorities, determine or alter the identity or values. Wealth can draw people into believing that the more money they have the better off they are. Jesus’ warning should not be ignored. Beware of the false perception of wealth; it can damn your soul for all eternity.

As long as there are people here on earth, wealth will always be created. However, like in all areas of life, there are requirements to enter into heaven. So, in the passage we are analyzing with the rich young ruler, Jesus was not introducing new revelation to human behavior and wealth. The rich young man and the disciples should have known the Law, the prophets, the Psalms and Solomon’s proverbs where much is said about how we are to deal with riches to be in good favor with God. Riches never mean that God approves the lifestyle of the rich.

When we don’t understand biblical history that is a tragic loss for us. However, when we have an open heart and mind to learn biblical and historical facts, it gives us a totally different perspective, one that makes absolute sense for all areas of life, including a full understanding how riches are to play in our lives without placing our trust in them, which would displace God in our hearts.

There is so much wealth in the world that people from different countries are making the list of the globally wealthy group. Forbes reports that there are 1,645 billionaires including 172 women. There is no doubt that wealthy people create products and jobs and pay a lot of taxes. They are philanthropists, who create foundations; they contribute to charities that are aligned with their worldview. So why did Jesus give a stern warning to the rich and what was that warning? Are the rich condemned for eternity for being rich? Does their generosity and philanthropy count for anything?

If happiness could come just by wishing for it, then all the people of the world should be happy. It is in the heart of humans to want to be happy. But reality says billions of people are not happy. Why is true happiness so illusive? What is the real definition of happiness?

We hear millions of voices preaching a myriad of principles and worldviews but God says narrow is the road that leads to truth. Freedom is the outcome of truth and it always comes with a price. Once we understand and accept the source of truth unconditionally then we become responsible for all our actions and can blame no one.

Do you fully understand the meaning of Christ living in you? Is it just an idea or does it influence your life? Do you know how it affects your life? If you believe that Christ is in you, can others tell the difference you make in life? Can anyone ever have a meaningful and purposeful life without Jesus Christ dwelling in him or her? How should we respond to God for such a remarkable gift in Christ?

I do not know what emotions the Christmas celebration evokes in you or what you may be experiencing. This topic is to make you reflect and explore the greater understanding of what it truly means. The Christmas message is clear for those with an open mind: humans are not alone in this vast universe with billions of galaxies. Believe it or not, humans can make this world a better place; it is up to them because all the provisions to accomplish this have been given by our Creator.

About The Future of America

We want to help restore America's original foundation in biblical Christian principles which made it the most powerful and prosperous nation in the world in a relatively short time but America has not reached it full potential. Ideas have consequences and they are passed on from generation to generation. To eradicate error, the moral and ethical principles of the Bible must be firmly established in the hearts and minds of each individual. If America is going to survive, its citizens must become re-acquainted with its history, heritage and biblical immovable principles and apply them once again to all areas of life. We hope this program will inspire and challenge you so together we can fulfill our responsibility before God and country to make the difference for our generation many generations to come.
