Hear

For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience (Colossians 1:9-11).

Believe

Waiting.

It’s one of the hardest things we humans do.

What makes it even harder is this “crazy, hurry-up” world in which we live. It’s instant everything. We’ve gotten to the point if something doesn't happen at the speed of light, we gripe and complain.

And then, to keep pace, we feel like we have to “hurry up and decide” or life will pass us by.

Talk about frustration. That attitude doesn’t work when it comes to the most important issues of life like maturity, relationships or growing in the Lord.

These things take patience and perseverance — waiting.

Now this waiting is not on life, or people or things. We wait on the Lord. Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD (Psalm 27:14).

In that waiting on the Lord, we find renewed strength and purpose. And we experience all that God has in store for us in his time.

Live

Don’t let the pace of this world keep you from doing the one thing that matters the most — waiting on the Lord. Ask God to strengthen you so that you may have great endurance and patience. How he works in your life will be worth the wait.

In Him,
