In the conclusion of our series, Lies We Believe, Pastor Chad examines the 3rd temptation Christ faced in His wilderness experience. When Satan offered Christ the kingdom's of the world, the point of the temptation is that he was offering Christ a way around the suffering of the cross.
In a similar way, Satan tries to get us to bypass the difficulties of life that God has ordained us to walk through. Satan wants us to bypass God's will, but Christ shows us how to defeat the Devil.

In Pt. 7 of our study of the Armor of God, Pastor Chad explains the various swords issued to a Roman soldier. Paul uses a specific term for the Sword of the Spirit, and it is a small sword called, the Machaira Sword.

Satan wanted Christ to jump from the pinnacle of the temple, forcing God's hand of protection. Often Satan wants us to jump outside of God's will bringing us to a place where we expect God's help and blessings when it was never God's will for us to take action.
In the second temptation of Christ, we learn how to overcome Satan using the truth and power of God's Word.
