… your toil is not in vain in the Lord. - 1 Corinthians 15:58
Outside the covenants of promise, people see themselves abandoned to Fate or meaninglessness. Either way, suffering is a dead-end, toil ultimately striving for goals that mean nothing. But God’s promise to those who trust Him is that there is nothing vain, empty or meaningless that is done in, for, and through Him. Those outside Christ may see no redeeming value in suffering, no purpose. Tears and blood lead nowhere but to more anguish. God’s covenant is that every tear has meaning, every drop of blood leads to new life. Nothing is empty and meaningless in His Kingdom.
