Yom Hashoah

April 22, 2017

Yom HaShoah is a day to stop and remember those whose lives were taken and affected by the holocaust. Chris will tell us a story about one survivor, Abba Kovner, a Jewish man born in Lithuania who help lead a resistance against the Nazis.

Abba gave an impassioned speech to his Jewish brothers and sisters,

“We will not be led like sheep to the slaughter! True, we are weak and defenseless, but the only reply to the murderer is revolt! Brothers! Better to fall as free fighters than to live by the mercy of the murderers. Arise! Arise with your last breath!”

Take a moment this week and pray for the survivors of the Holocaust. That God would make Himself known in their lives. And pray for the families of the over 6 million who died. May God give them grace.
