References: Exodus 12Romans 6:23 tells us that "the wages of sin is death". But for the Christian, Jesus already paid the price for our sins on the cross. However, in the days of Moses, God told the Israelites to sacrifice a lamb for the sins of their household. While that might seem strange to us today, it helps us understand why Jesus is referred to as the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Yes, through Christ, we are redeemed. And as we continue our studies in the book of Exodus, we gain a clearer understanding of redemption.
