The State of Obama

The State of Socialism in America
The State of the Union Speech is pretty much the State of Obama, on this edition of Generations. Americans aren't happy. 'The Messiah' was a disappointment. And, they're looking for a better socialism. Kevin Swanson and Dave Buehner review the top agenda items on the minds of most Americans, as per a recent survey from Pew Research - confirming once more than Americans are solidly socialist, and they are looking for the best socialist leaders that are the most accomplished at promising them salvation from their troubles.

The Integration of a Life Author of a terrific new book, "A Father's Stew," Stephen Beck paints a picture of a father's life on this edition of Generations. Life is a sculpture or a woven mosaic. Beck insists that a father must integrate family, work, and ministry into one big 'ol stew. Too many fathers compartmentalize their lives, and in the process destroy their families. Listen to this program and get ready for a paradigm shift in the way that you view life.

Interview: Sofia and Elizabeth Botkin In a Eros-filled society, people hardly know how to relate to each other, and the problem is particularly difficult for our unmarried young men and women. The Botkin sisters join us again on this edition of Generations to talk about "The things our father taught us about young men." Too many young men and women avoid each other or create odd romantic ideas about the opposite gender. This helpful interview will strengthen the guy-girl (read brother-sister) relationships in your church community. We would recommend this as an excellent teaching tool for families and churches, where young men and women, boys and girls interact.

This Program Dedicated to RINO's Alan Keyes isn't keen on the RINO commitment to economic interests, in total disregard of the other moral issues. Attempts to salvage the nation economically on the part of Republicans is sure to come up empty, when the root problem is still not being addressed. In a program dedicated to RINO's, Kevin Swanson weighs in on the recent attempts on the part of Russia, India, and Uganda to address the growing scourge of homosexuality in those countries.

Euthanize Them, Ignore Them, or Honor Them? As you fear God, you will honor the elderly in your midst! Whether in the church service or in the family or in the rest homes, often the elderly are shuffled aside and ignored. Kevin Swanson interviews Phil Schwolert from Harvest Tribute on the importance of honoring the elderly, and the blessing enjoyed when families do so.

Independence, Rebellion, or Using the Wrong Bible Translation In response to e-feedback to the Generations program, Kevin Swanson talks to daughters in rebellion to the family vision. What is rebellion and how do parents respond in wisdom to it? Also, we address a question on hair length for our daughters and wives. How do family jurisdictions make the call on such matters?

Sending Missionaries to Pandora Watch Avatar! It's a movie that has it all. Pantheism! Escapism! Environmentalism! Rousseau's noble savages! It's got it all! What in the world is James Cameron's worldview, and why is it taking the world by storm? In this program, Kevin Swanson examines the pantheistic, monist worldview and basically destroys the movie for anybody who was planning to watch it. James Cameron sets empire-building colonialists against pantheist savages, but we're not taking sides here. How about we send a Christian missionary to Pandora?

Voting for Change Well, Barrack Obama got his chance, and the voters in Massachusetts are fed up with it. 'The Messiah' hasn't pulled it out in 6 months, and the fickle voting populace is on to the next candidate to promise salvation. Scott Brown's win in Massachusetts says a great deal about the mind of "democracy." Kevin Swanson also points out that America is on an inexorable slide into socialism and an abolition of economic freedom. Referring to the 2010 Heritage Foundation Economic Freedom Index, he identifies the most free nations around the world. America is now less free than Canada. But there are nations that are more free than they were in 1995. Pay attention to these trends in the nations around the world. It could come in handy should the nation in which you live become another slave state.

Cracking the Monopoly on Ideas and Education The typical fundamentalist, Protestant home schooling family lives "in trailer parks, 1,000 square foot homes, houses owned by relatives, and some on tarps in fields. . . . Their lack of job skills, passed from one generation to the next, depresses the community’s overall economic health. . ." So writes Robin West from Georgetown University Law Center, in a vile little piece on home education in America. But professor West has a more fundamental beef with home education. Really smart people know that home schooling cracks the monopoly on education, the socialist model for herding the populace, the centralist tendencies of the modern nation. Yet she doubts the political impact of this "rabble." Kevin Swanson interacts with these ideas and the long term impact of this decentralizing trend in education on this edition of Generations.

Recognizing Existentialism Now you can send an e-card of support for those who have had an abortion. Support the choice, and let them know that you 'grieve for their loss.' At the same time, a recent New York Times article projects that 60% of new houses will have double master bedrooms in the next 10 years. Jean Paul Sartre rules today. He is the father of modern existentialism, and he taught us that 'hell is other people.' One defines his own existence by unfettered, self-oriented choice. But what a cold and lonely world he has produced! Kevin Swanson brings this down to the real world for every family listening, by giving a number of ways we train our children to be their own selfish pigs. Warning - we're taking on the big one on this episode of Generations!

Time to Build the Island of Freedom Kevin Swanson points out the difference between Republican and Democratic leadership in Washington. The Republicans increased federal control of education five-fold over the previous eight years and the Democrats simply add the perversions. The autonomy that local school districts have enjoyed is quietly and quickly dissipating. Power and Perversions go hand in hand. Anyway you look at it, Christians will increasingly need to avail themselves to an Island of Freedom to escape the enforced perversions that await them in education and health care. Otherwise, they will face slow and steady amalgamation into a worldview that is diametrically opposed to their faith.
