Russia's Social Collapse

July 21, 2010
When the Gospel Finally Reaches a People With most of the social systems of the western world falling off the cliff in the 21st century, it's no surprise that Russia is in just about the worst condition of all. Since the dissolution of communism, the condition of morality and the family have fallen off the cliff. They are 3 times as drunk per capita. There are 3 times the children born without fathers. The birth rate fell in half to practically the worst in the world. Communism fails. Western materialism fails. Insipid, watered-down Christianity fails, because it is incapable of transforming life. So what's left? Here Kevin Swanson interviews Blake Purcell, one of the first missionaries back into the Soviet Union since the 1917 revolution, on what it takes to transform culture from the bottom up. Incredibly, Russia's problems are virtually the same as ours. The solution is the full-orbed teaching and living out of the Word of God.

The Abominations Pile Up The National Education Association introduces its new "Drag Queen Caucus," and Kevin Swanson muses over why parents send their children to schools controlled by such unions. But the real concern is the state of the church. Compromises with feminism and an unwillingness to preach a message of repentance to the nations as weakened the faith in the west.

Socialization After School (at Home) Most homeschooled graduates know the question. They've heard it many times. "What about socialization?" Homeschooling is a deliberate attempt to reconstruct human social systems. So how does it work? Kevin Swanson interviews author Natalie Wickham on her warm-hearted book on the homeschooling experience - "Pajama School."

National Repentance According to Google search statistics, Pakistan is the most perverted nation in the world. The Islam religion is known for its superficial faith and stinking-rotten core. But what can we say about our nation? Every country has reasons to repent, and this country is no exception. Kevin Swanson lists the top ten national sins (Exodus 20 helps here), and interviews David Lange on his book, “The Five Commitments of Repentance.”

Moral Equivalence With the continuing decline of Christianity in the west, Michigan seems to prefer Muslims to Christians now. Christian evangelists were arrested in their attempts to evangelize Muslims in Dearborn, Michigan. The proto-evangelical, Ted Haggard is in the news again as he meets with the press on the start up of a new church in Colorado Springs. In a You-Tube clip, Ted likens homosexual marriage to falling short of God’s best for us, sort of like taking an Aspirin or putting on a few extra pounds. I mean, nobody’s perfect!

A Brave New World If 41% of children are born without fathers, how many could be conceived without fathers? That’s the questions on the minds of the social planners who are working hard to create the Platonic world, where “no son shall know his father, and no father shall know his son.” Here Kevin Swanson discusses the horror of parthenogenesis, babies stored in cryogenic labs, artificial wombs, and other dreary developments of the modern age. When man abandons relationships in his cold, institutional systems, eventually he will destroy himself and his civilization.

Interview: Jennie Chancey The ABC comedy-drama "Desperate Housewives" is in its 6th season, and presents the typical, dysfunctional forni-fest that marks American life today. People have a hard time imaging that functional, happy families can even exist today. But they do! Against the world's ideals for womanhood which include the discontented, whining, manipulating whores or the emotionally-androgynous power woman, Author Jennie Chancey suggests a biblical alternative. Jennie cuts and slices. She insists that a woman does not have fill the role of some mindless slave working for a corporation, or even the mindless "Stepford Wife" caricature. But as she fulfills God's designed roles for her (vs. those designed for her by the statist social planners), she maximizes her impact on this generation, and many more generations hence!

How We Make Choices In 1991, the thinnest state in America was Colorado. Today, the thinnest state in America is still Colorado, only it is fatter than the fattest state in America was in 1991! America is getting fat . . . during a recession. All of this leads to a discussion on nature and nurture, and how people make their choices in life. Is man's will free, or is it bound by the pressures of environmental causes, or even Adam's sinful nature? Some thoughtful issues surface in this important program.

Monitoring the Fall of Civilization Since 2007, the private sector has lost about 10 million jobs, while the public sector gained 1 million. That means the growth of socialism, of course. But socialism also means the death of manhood. About 75% of the jobs lost were manned by men. So the men come home, and women serve as breadwinner or co-breadwinner in 2/3 of the households in America. It’s getting interesting now! It’s a whole new world out there. In the macro, men are failing and failing fast. But there will be a few islands left where a vision for manhood is still extant. Listen for a powerful strategy whereby our families will be prepared to face the year 2050 A.D.

Family Businesses that Work! In a changing economy, it’s time to start thinking about family-based economic systems. Wade Myers from New Venture Lab has spent the last year crisscrossing the country with a video crew in search of families who have put together businesses that work. Take a front seat on this tour, and learn about how families have integrated business and family life. As we restructure a new socio-economic paradigm, it is critical that families learn effective business models, network into the marketplace, secure more market share by contract (and other means), all of which would allow for more mentorship and family integration in the business world.

Is this Really the "End of Men?" Atlantic Magazine declares "The End of Men," as society works its way over the precipice in many western countries. Men aren't working. Men aren't getting educated. As a rule, men are giving up. But is it really the end of civilization? Kevin Swanson interviews Randy Stinson, president of the Council on BIblical Manhood and Womanhood concerning the long standing effects of one hundred years of egalitarian thinking. Should Christians begin to seriously appy the ethical implications of God's social system, what could happen to our future families and churches? This powerful, visionary interview is one you don't want to miss!
