Prison Time for School Prayer?

September 1, 2009
Worldviews in Conflict
A principal and an athletic director in Northern Florida face criminal charges and up to 6 months in prison over a prayer uttered on school property (during off-school hours), as the secular state does everything it can to obliterate every tiny remnant of the fear of God from any part of the paideia of children in public schools. Kevin Swanson contrasts the rising Muslim worldview to the secularist worldview and the Christian worldview on this segment of Generations, pointing out that humanists kill babies and imprison people who fear God and Muslims kill daughters who don't submit to their fathers in honor-killings. Meanwhile, Christians kill murderers but refuse to submit to a worldview that idolizes the state as a means of salvation.

Somebody Get Me Another Cigar A church in Michigan wins $70,000 in the state lottery and appropriates the monies to the building fund. This initiates a conversation on a Christian view of gambling, playing the stock market, taking dominion, idolatry, and fun.

His day has come "For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be; yes, you shall diligently look for his place, and it shall not be. The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes upon him with his teeth. The Lord shall laugh at him: for he sees that his day is coming." A sober edition of the Generations broadcast reviews the life of the man who led the march of a nation into the killing of 50 million babies, and into a national socialist experiment that ended in bankruptcy, and into a widespread endorsement of homosexuality, and the breaking of just about every one of the ten commandments.

Interview: Sheriff Richard Mack Tyranny is local, but so is the defense of our constitutional rights. As America turns into a litigious, regulated, tyrannized society, the county sheriff stands as the first and last line of defense for innocent citizens, the self-governed, freedom-loving families that just want to homeschool their children in peace, and defend their families from intruders with firearms if necessary. As a sheriff of a rural Arizona county, Sheriff Richard Mack fought the Brady Bill gun-control law all the way to the Supreme Court and won. In this interview with Kevin Swanson, Sheriff Mack explains how the county sheriff has a duty to defend the citizenry from the tyrannical usurpation of their constitutional rights.

Interview: Tim Bloedow You talk about audacity! The "science" of environmentalism is breathtakingly audacious, and it's not really science either. Imagine this. The same people who believe in a bygone tropical planet of the dinosaurs, succeeded by an Ice Age full of woolly mammoths, continents clumping together and splitting apart, asteroid impacts, etc. propose to use government to impose an environmental status quo on all the earth. They claim the power to be able to hold back vast planetary changes. Wow! We're impressed! This is Tim Bloedow's take on it in his new book, "Environmentalism and the Death of Science." In this interview we contrast real science (based in a biblical worldview) with the pseudo-science coming out of the academy today.

...and Reformation What's Good and Bad in the Church While the ELCA meets to approve the qualification of homosexuals for ministry, a tornado rips up their tents and knocks the cross of the Lutheran church where they met in Minneapolis. Interesting. In a brief overview of the state of the church in America, Kevin Swanson reviews the ELCA decision, the New Calvinism, the "cussing" pastor, and how to eschew apostasy while embracing unity.

There is a reason why the American family is the weakest in the western world, and why the nuclear family now makes up only a minority of households. Our institutions have been carefully designed to weaken, to fragment, and to dis-integrate the family. You are programmed to fail. Where a semblance of family life still exists, it is only a shell and will soon crumble away.So how does one strengthen the family, but by redesigning the institutions that make up the world? In this land-breaking program, Kevin Swanson outlines seven ways he has set out to re-build the foundations of the family as an institution by reconfiguring the economics of the family. This may be only a start on rebuilding the institution of the family in the 21st century, but if you are not engaging these discussions, you can count on failure.

Dads and Sons Working the Fields Together It's been 120 years since Almanzo Wilder plowed the fields beside his father in the days of Little House on the Prairie. Now, in a day where 70% of young men are not grown up by 30 years of age, there are a few fathers out there who are recovering some concept of the unified household economy, fathering, and the like. In this interview, Geoff Botkin explains how one pioneering family in the 21st century captured the vision.

At the Capitol or Your Living Room? Life is filled with decisions relating to priorities. How do we best impact culture? Do we put our time and energy behind a pragmatic, watered-down political agenda in Washington DC, or raise a hard-core, dedicated minority of men and women in our living rooms who understand God's Word and are ready to apply it to every area of life? As a father and a candidate for the Colorado Gubernatorial race, Kevin Swanson discusses this issue with culture-changer, Geoff Botkin.

The Homeschool Progress Report 2009 While most studies, reports, and cultural analyses glumly report on the worsening conditions of the academics, the character, the social systems, the economics, and the churches in this country, there is one bright light that seems to be growing brighter all the time. Kevin Swanson continues to monitor the growth and progress towards excellence seen in Home Education. In this segment of Generations, he interviews Dr. Brian Ray on the new study on home school academics that indicates even better results than the last major study conducted in 1999.Kevin and Brian discuss the implications of a movement of 2,000,000 people that elect to abandon a government-sponsored education system, and are moving towards a de-centralized, de-institutionalized, and re-relationalized way of life. How will this impact these communities in the years to come?

Harry Potter, Role Playing Games, and Witchcraft It looks like Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince emerges as the top grossing film this summer. But what does the Bible say about stuff like witchcraft, necromancy, drinking blood, and the like? Might I suggest you look up "witch," "spells," "speaking to the dead," and "drinking blood" in your handy computer concordance. But what about those who insist there can be good witches, good rapists, and good necromancers? Kevin Swanson interviews Marcia Montenegro, the author of a recent book release, "Spellbound, The Paranormal Seduction of Today’s Kids." As one who was deeply involved in the occult through the 1980s with first hand experience in spirit guides, astrology, the "higher Self," developing psychic abilities, praying to gurus, astral travel, numerology, Tarot cards, contacting the dead, etc. etc., Marcia issues a timely warning for families.
