Obama's Most Important Accomplishment
One year after the election, America's 41st president has already clicked off a number of items on his agenda. But what is his most important accomplishment? Foreign policy. Socialism. Hate crimes. Economic recovery. None of these will come close to Obama's most important accomplishment in his first year as president of the United States.

Breaking Down the Family Over 50% of children in America will receive their food from the federal government by way of food stamps. And now government is seizing control of healthcare as well, not to mention its almost complete hold upon higher education and K-12 schools. It is a truism that the family is no longer as strong as it was fifty years ago. . . No debate on that one. But what have governments been doing to assure the breakdown of the family in west? Kevin Swanson outlines the steady efforts made by government to erode family solidarity, and what families need to do to begin to oppose these efforts.

America's Gibeah Occasionally, something extraordinarily horrifying happens that indicates the magnitude of the depravity to which a nation has sunk. Last week, a 15-year-old Christian girl at Richmond High School received the Gibeah treatment, and shock waves reverberate across the country. So far nobody has cut up a concubine and sent pieces across the country, and civil war may not be imminent. . . yet. Read Judges 19 and then listen to this program. WARNING: This edition of Generations is not intended for the ears of small children.

The Power of Peers and Media Who or what has the most profound influence on your child? Who or what forms his attitudes, perspectives, morals, and loves? If a child gets 32 hours a week of television, 25 hours a week of classroom instruction, and 28 hours a week with peers, what in the world will a 30-minute Sunday School Lesson on "Jonah and the Whale" do for him? Kevin Swanson compares the various influences on young children today, and concludes that peer-group contact is the most powerful for the average kid. Focusing on Proverbs 13:20, ("He who walks with wise men will be wise, but a companion of fools shall be destroyed"), Kevin contrasts the kid who walks with wise men with the companions of fools.

How America Became a Socialist Nation The front page of Newsweek magazine screams out, "We're all socialists now!" And we're finally starting to believe it. But how does a nation turn from freedom to almost absolute government control, where the state controls 70% of higher education, 95% of K-12 education, 65% of the economy, and 35% or rather, 75% of healthcare? First off, it's not because a president is shoving socialism down our throats. And you can't blame George W. Bush for it either, although everybody plays a part in it, of course. It is because our sons and daughters are raised TO BE SOCIALISTS. R.C. Sproul Jr. joins us on the Generations broadcast to explain how we raise our children to be socialists. . . And how not to.

The Scourge of Islam Over the first 50 years of the last century, there were only 20 recorded terrorist events. This year, we have had 199 so far, and the year isn't even over yet. Terrorism is on the increase in many nations for several compounding reasons – tyranny and anarchy grow together, people have access to technology – they know how to build bombs, there are far more larger metropolitan areas today, and. . . the scourge of Islam has proliferated. Here Kevin Swanson interacts with the front page of the newspaper, and contrasts worldviews. Why is Christianity far more peaceful and freedom-loving than the two other predominant worldviews that control national governments - Islam and Humanism? This edition of Generations provides helpful information on the theology, the metaphysics, and the ethics of Islam, and will equip you and your children with a robust apologetic for the Christian faith.

Interview: James Lansberry With the socialist noose tightening and as Congress considers mandating expensive health insurance on American families, Kevin Swanson suggests an island of freedom for those people who still want it. According to James Lansberry, Vice President of Samaritan Ministries, the language in the current healthcare reform bill still exempts Healthcare Sharing Ministries from this mandatory insurance (check out pages 103 and 199 of the bill). Some estimates put these insurance mandates at a cost of $18,000 per family, per year. Not only do these ministries save families hundreds of thousands of dollars in premiums over 10-20 years, but they may be the only island of freedom to keep us out of socialist systems heading towards euthanasia and infanticide for the less fit. THIS PROGRAM CONTAINS VITAL INFORMATION for those families who are concerned about the rapid changes ahead, as post-modern society moves ahead with a Brave New World.

Teaching a Christian Worldview in Your Children's Education If you think America has lost faith, family, and freedom, or any semblance of a biblical worldview over the last fifty years, you ought to check out other nations like England, Scotland, or Australia! Yet, there seems to be a tiny remnant hanging on to relationships and truth in a lost and lonely world. We found a family in Australia who has more than 1.4 children, is reintegrating family relationships, and understands the Christian mandate to apply God's Word to all areas of thought and life. Kevin Swanson interviews Joseph Stephen, homeschooling father of six, and author of several books, on this segment of Generations.

The Ultimate Power Grab Interview: Dr. Everett Piper The ideas inculcated by higher education will form the leaders and the society of the next generation. So of course, since 1972 the federal government has increased its control of private and public colleges by 40-fold. The federal government is on its way to total control of 99% of all of higher education, by way of. . . you got it. . . federal funding of student grants and loans. Kevin Swanson interviews Dr. Everett Piper, president of Oklahoma Wesleyan University concerning recent signals on the part of the Obama administration to tighten controls on the hiring practices of private Christian universities. Could this signal the end of the Christian college in America? Strategically, this may be the most important initiative on the part of the federal government to end freedom (including academic freedom), from American thought and life.

...Cap and Trade Freaking Out Over World Government What's all this trending towards centralization, as America surrenders national sovereignty piece by piece? If a nation can't handle it's own governance, how in the world are we to expect world government to do a better job at it? Kevin Swanson points out that huge centralized empires killed hundreds of millions in the 20th century, not to mention 40-50 million per year just in aborted children. It's hard to imagine the 21st century is going to be a whole lot better. So what to do about it? Instead of freaking out about world government and spending your years throwing rocks at the United Nations, what about putting a little time into worshiping God, building godly families and churches, and decentralizing your economy back to an oikonomia? What about fearing God, loving Him and keeping His commandments?

The NASB, the NIV, and the ESV Bounds of Ecumenicity A church in North Carolina advertises a Bible Burning of all the "wrong versions," and then people start tossing John MacArthur, Chuck Swindoll, and Billy Graham books in the bonfire, too. Understandably, some churches are a little gun shy with ecumenism, in the midst of the cold storm of a Christian apostasy in the west. But Kevin Swanson points out that Christians have always struggled over the major-minor, gnat-camel thing. Then he lists some of the major questions you want to ask when choosing the sort of books you read and the Christian teachers you hang out with.
