The church was established by Jesus to give continuity to the will of God. Jesus’ presence on earth initiated a transition from the old creation to the dynamics of the new creation. His death and resurrection reaffirmed the reality of God’s continuation of his kingdom. The resurrection of Christ consolidated the authority given to him. This authority was to be delegated to his disciples, the new church. Then came the fall of Jerusalem completing the transition from the old to the new, all revelation was given in order for God’s people to build upon those principles.
