What's Eating You?
by Berni Dymet
Psalm 37:8 Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath. Do not fret—it leads only to evil.
Can I ask you a rather blunt question? What's eating you?
Boy I turn the radio on and some joker asks me "What's eating me?!!"
Yeah - what's eating you? I'm asking because so many people are consumed by some hurt, some injustice, some chip on their shoulders they just won't let go of. We're entitled to feel angry. We're entitled to get revenge. We're just entitled!
But whatever it is, it eats away. That's why I'm asking - very plainly and very directly…what's eating you. Come on. Be honest. Whatever "it" is - "it" ends up consuming our lives. "It" robs us of joy and peace.
And if this was happening to a friend, we'd probably find a way to say "Friend, just let it go."
So - let me say this to you today. Friend - just let it go. It's why Jesus kept talking about forgiveness. What He was saying was - friend, just let it go. And when you do that, He sets us free.
