"Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life; he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live; and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?" (John 11:25-26)
In this message we first see a question to consider. Jesus' question was, "Do you believe this?" He speaks of faith, not feeling. Believing in the words of Jesus is to put faith in something solid.
We then see the confession of Martha. She acknowledges that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, the one prophesied of old that he should come.
Then we see the struggles of the sister. They were wavering between grief and hope. Martha informs Mary of Jesus' arrival. "The Master is come and calleth for thee." What good news! When Jesus comes there is comfort, hope, and joy.
