While a highway can take us to a particular location, it can also lead us away from another. This is evident in both the title of today’s message and in the guidance given in today’s Scripture passage. Just as a moth is destroyed when it flies to close to a flame, so also can we be overcome by evil when we dare to come too close to its temptations. The “road of life” is filled with peril. So keep your eyes focused on the Lord while on your journey and avoid the pain and sorrow that comes from those pitfalls that, at first, seem very desirable.
