Do You Need a Financial Advisor? with Ron Blue
Do I need a financial advisor? Proverbs 19:20 says, “Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future.” This advice is especially important when it comes to money and how you manage it. Today, host Rob West talks with Kingdom Advisors founder Ron Blue to discuss the necessity of having a financial advisor and what to look for when choosing one.
· Your financial advisor should share the same values and worldview as you so they ask you the right questions. You can’t get the right answer from the wrong question.
· Ron says the main thing his financial advisor does is keep him accountable.
· Financial advisors should have no bias except to help you and guide you.
· Your financial advisor should want more than anything else to help you identify your goals, values, and priorities. They should then base their advice around that.
· It’s always good to know who your financial advisor has worked with in the past in order to judge how well they will work with you.
Here are a couple of questions we answered from our callers on today’s program:
· How do I pass my home down to my son without paying capital gains tax?
· I’ve never invested in the stock market and my family is telling me now is a good time to do so. I don’t know much about the stock market and I’ve gotten differing answers on whether or not to invest. Is this a good entry point for a novice, or is this a waste of time and money?
