Why Democrats are Winning - 2013 Election Results

November 6, 2013
Socialists, Rhinos, and Democrats are picking up gubernatorial and important mayoral positions. But the important question is "Why?" Exit polls reveal the true heart of the nation. Feminism undermines freedom, election by election, year by year, generation by generation. There is one little hitch for the rise of modern socialism. Could we be running out of "Other People's Money?"

With media being so decentralized in the modern day, there is more opportunity for Christians to make godly movies. Kevin and Dave discuss some of the new and upcoming films in 2013 and 2014, including “First Do No Harm,” produced by Mark Cochran who also appears on this program.

According to statistics from the Department of Health and Human Services, 75% of elderly Americans (75 and older) live alone or have been institutionalized. Will these trends reverse, or only get worse with the elderly population doubling over the next 20 years? We interview Elizabeth Hugo on this edition of the program, who has written an excellent little book - "Lessons from My Papa - A Daughter's Journey Caring for Her Elderly Father." Kevin Swanson calls for a new movement of conferences and support for families that provide relational, home-based care for seniors.

About 72% of Americans plan to celebrate Halloween this Fall. That exceeds the 67% of those who celebrate (or recognize) Christ's resurrection in the Spring. Kevin Swanson interacts with a Newsweek (Daily Beast) article on the rise of the horror genre. Why do parents dress their children up as witches, pirates, and ax murderers? This may not be everybody, but it is more common than ever. Bottom line. If one really believed in the resurrection, would you live life differently?

After all the work on the part of pro-lifers and conservatives, a George W. Bush court appointee struck down the Texas abortion law. Kevin Swanson asks the question, "Where is the American heart?" At heart, do Americans really want to preserve the lives of babies? Or at the very end of the day, are they willing to sacrifice the lives of babies for their own short term pleasures?" Could it be that the cause for life is failing because of the heart of the American voter? We also take a look at the history of the Republican party on this edition of the program. Have the Republicans always been (at least surreptitiously) in support of new big government programs?

Too little, too late. Too insipid. Too superficial. Not biblical. These are the popular assessments of the modern youth group, according to a broad survey conducted by the National Center for Family Integrated Churches. Kevin Swanson interviews Scott Brown on the results, and the discussion turns towards how the 21st century church must take discipleship seriously (if it will survive). Are we concerned about "what works?" Or are we more concerned about the basic principles outlined in Titus 2 or Deuteronmoy 6:7 and Ephesians 6:4?

For over 15 years, the Homeschool Speech and Debate program has grown across the United States. Tens of thousands are involved now. Kevin Swanson interviews Chris Jeub from TrainingMinds.org on the progress that has been made, the distinctives of a Christian approach to speech and debate, and the future of the program. Every family does need to consider the importance of communication in preparing their young men and young women for life.

Kevin Swanson comments on Mark Driscoll's assessment of Christianity in America. Will it have a "funeral or a future?" What about all of this infighting? What are the majors and minors in the determination of the apostasy trajectory? Christian families should be concerned about sustaining the Christian faith for generations. This is a valid concern.

The UK Guardian reports massive sexual burnout in Japan, and Kevin Swanson explains some of the reasons for it. The existentialist burnout is spreading fast, and will probably affect American men strongly in the next 20-30 years.  Also, we witnessed the largest single entertainment roll-out in the world in September - Grand Theft Auto 5.  How does this electronic, virtual world tie into the abandonment of relationship?   And, will any of our families be protected from it?

Neronic Agenda on the Roll New Jersey makes for the 6th state this year to adopt the Neronic agenda (same-sex weddings). With the aggressive move towards the abandonment of a Christian world and life view, Kevin Swanson warns of the apostate tendencies even in evangelical and homeschooling families. What contributes to this apostasy in the lives of individuals, generation by generation?
