Both Sweden and America are pushing for more nationalization and government control of education. The homeschool leader in Sweden is now in exile while the Obama administration is pushing for a nationally-standardized curriculum. The administration uses its funding mechanisms to establish more control and lays the groundwork for even more standardization and perhaps even regulation of homeschooling in this country.

80% of NFL players are bankrupt two years after their retirement. Could it have anything to do with the fact that wealth gotten by vanity is soon dissipated? Kevin Swanson also discusses the Jeremy Lin phenomenon—the NBA superstar who wants to glorify God while he is busy setting all-time records for highest points scored in four consecutive games. How does a Christian engage the culture? And what about modeling? Why did a Christian model recently announce her retirement from her stint with Victoria Secret? Should Christians play professional sports or model for Victoria Secret?

The obesity rate has exploded in America since 1990. Colorado is the thinnest state in the nation although it is fatter than the fattest state was in 1990. This may be the first generation that will not live longer than the previous one (in the modern age). Sadly, professing Christians are more taken by the sin of gluttony than others in our society. So what does the Bible say about that? Here Kevin Swanson interviews Peter Bringe on his new, helpful little book, "The Christian Philosophy of Food."

Two very important parts of every household economy are hospitality and ministry. In fact, every household economy should include a measure of serving within the body of Christ. Kevin Swanson interviews James McDonald on the similarities of and differences between ministry and business. How do you integrate your children into the family ministry work? What are the goals of hospitality? And how do you keep your children from getting burned-out on ministry?

When Christians abandon God’s laws, just about anything can happen. The once Christian-oriented Rutherford Institute is now fighting for the rights of cross-dressers in public schools in Virginia! Once Christians abandon God’s revealed laws and turn towards natural law theories or antinomian pietism, they are absorbed into the anti-Christ culture and fight for cross-dressing in America’s public high schools! It’s either objective biblical law or bust. Those who reject the Old Testament law will continue to lead the apostasy in the West.

One angry father released a YouTube video where he reads his daughter’s Facebook page filled with expletives directed against her own parents. Then he fixes the whole problem by shooting her computer. What would Jesus say? Well, that’s easy. In Matthew 15, He addresses the troubled teen who curses his father and mother. But what do we do about angry fathers who nurture angry teens? All of America will identify with this universal problem—hence the 26 million downloads on this YouTube video.

Tedd Tripp is author of "Shepherding a Child's Heart." Over the years, Tedd has provided a welcome antidote to the behavior modification approach to child training, that lost some serious biblical balance. For parents that are interested in more than superficial behavior modification, and want to see both heart and hands transformed by the grace of God this will help. There are things parents can do to nurture the heart. We talk about singing with your child, praying with and for your child, and teaching the heart of your child in this interview.

The European economy is in deep trouble, but there are no stronger signals of trouble than the unemployment ratios for young men 18-25 years old. The ratio is as high as 50% in nations like Spain and Greece! Birth implosions coupled with a lack of maturity and lack of opportunities for young men will utterly kill these economies. The socio-economic decline of Europe serves as a harbinger for what is to come in America. But there are some positive signs as well. Huge segments of the population in America and Australia are turning towards homeschooling! Thousands of Australian families are even willing to homeschool illegally! These are good signs of life among some families. But will we be able salvage an entire socio-economic system, in the midst of the present downfall?
